I'm not completely sold on Meier, but I do see some definite positives about him. While his arm strength is not great, it is enough for an offense that stresses shorter routes. (See Joe Montana's 49ers vs Elways Broncos, both quarterbacks arms were well suited for their respective schemes and each had great success) Also, kurt Warner is not blessed with a great arm, but with the great speed the Ram's WRs had, they were able to turn short slant routes into long gains consistantly. (And those short routes left Isaac Bruce open downfield in single coverage; imagine Jordy downfield with no one but a free safety on him.) I love Meier's leadership skills, his intelligence, his toughness, and his dedication to becoming better. I remember being very frustrated with Beasley in spring practice, I didn't think he had enough tools to be a great quarterback, and I was more than pleasantly surprised with his win/loss record. If Meier stays healthy he will a great asset to the team, time will tell if he will be the starter or not. FWIW I feel if AE improves as much as he did last off season, he will most likely win the nod.
