Does Bill love KSU enough to step aside if there was a chance we could get this done?
what about a HCIW deal for a year or two. Depending on how hot this gets legally with TTU he may not be a viable HC for a bit.

Why would he be HCIW for a coach he is clearly superior to in every fathomable way?
JFC, people.

No. That motherfracker wouldn't even get rid of an assistant coach(es) when it would have been good for the program. the hilarious part is that if by some kwanza miracle ksu did hire leach, the addition of billy cosh might actually be a good thing...marking the first impact QB snyder recruited this century.
But if he's really serious about this "I'm just here to calm the waters" bullcrap, then we should have a coaching search every single year until the right guy pops up.
Liggett read the termination letter aloud in the packed courtroom. When he reached the part that made it clear Leach was fired, many in the gallery gasped audibly.
Several fans called out that they wouldn't be renewing their season tickets.
Outside the court, after the firing had been announced, a motorist yelled out his vehicle window, "Fire Myers," referring to athletic director Gerald Myers.
Leach and Myers did not always see eye-to-eye, as was the case in last year's contentious contract negotiations. Myers was not happy that Leach met with University of Washington officials about their job opening without informing the university.
Myers did not immediately return a call seeking comment Wednesday.
Bill Dean, executive vice president of the 28,000-member Texas Tech Alumni Association, said he has been bombarded by e-mail and phone calls from alumni who are angry about Leach's firing.
"I think people are wanting an explanation for this," Dean said. "I'm sure the university will give them one. That's my hope. That that will happen very soon."
I would love to hire Leachas a HCIWimmediately/right now/yesterday/3 years ago/as soon as that old bastard gets out of Mike's new office.

Totally correct. Can you imagine if our AD was forward thinking enough, and I'm not saying he is or he isn't, to do a good solid search, extending "feelers" every year from here forward? I truly hope there is even a chance this is happening. The reality that OB could just say "I'm done" again needs to be realized unless we want to end up with some loser who is currently on this non-recruiting staff.

If your John Currie, you are lying in bed awake tonight, staring at the ceiling, contemplating the idea of Mike Leach at the helm. There are "slam dunks" and then there's ripping the freaking goal down....this would be the later, not the former.
*sigh*
Another dream that will never be realized :'(

this is the summary of my thoughts during the first two minutes of finding out that leach got fired today. not even kidding at all when i say that if i could hire any coach in the world to come to kstate it would be him. him over anybody. seriously.

Get that thought out of your head. Now. You are my friend and I hate to see you sad. This is like that time when you were super excited about your "Fire Ron" banner and he got fired before you had a chance to fly that bugger over the stadium. You were just so despondent.

Thanks bro. I still consider our failure on that effort (even though it was rendered obsolete by the early awkward firing of Ron) to be the closest we have ever come to doing something truly magical...and we missed by the slimmest of margins.....it was right there....
Leach is a nice coach, but I don't see him winning a National Title before OB. Snydz had a real nice run around the turn of the Millennium if you recall.
Remember TT has a pretty good recruiting bed right there, and they were getting UT castoffs    rather than the A&M castoffs they used to get.
Now if he ends up at a place like OU or Michigan he'll be in pretty good shape being able to pick up the big-time recruits, but he's not going to win a National Title in Manhattan or Pullman.
Can you imagine? Leach is our HC we go win a Dr. Pepper and Billy Cosh throws for a gazillion yards. Then we can all complain about how BC is more than a system QB and how he should have won the Hiesman.
Leach would be awesome. Would love to go watch his practices. One of my top 3 favorite coaches in the Big 12.
Leach would contend for the north every 2 or 3 years. I'd take Leach in a heartbeat.
Would rather take a legit shot at Patterson in 4 years after Snyd's contract is up and GPatt has expended most of his recent extension.
You honestly think AP National Coach of the Year Gary Patterson is going to be at tcu in 4 years?

I just love that the school that had no problem hiring Bobby Knight* could think that what Leach did would be a catalyst to fire a coach.
*and I had no problem with Tech hiring Knight.
Would rather have Tubberville, Patterson, etc. before Leach.who is etc.?

hmm...well...I guess to that I ask: If Patterson can be lured away mid contract as you say then why shouldn't it be KSU? Keep in mind that I pose this question under the same assumption that we are in a world where we should try to hire Leach 1 year into Snyder's 5 year contract.
:koolaid: YUM!!!!

Snyder's contract is meaningless (even compared to other college football coach's contracts which are all meaningless to begin with). I don't know that there has been a coach in the history of college football that has had their current contract hold them up from taking another job.

For those of you without GPC access, it indicates that he has an "a1" source informing him that Snyder is interested in pursuing Leach as the next HC. This guy seems totally legit. :pirate:

Pete I think that knock upside your head has negatively impacted your posting.

agreed. just hard to believe anything (positive) rumored about ksu athletics.
the fear factor/meltdown from the rest of the north would be epic.

Can you imagine? The Offensive FBIQ would be through the roof if Coach Snyder and Leach got together. I, for one, say, "Let's make this happen!"
:pirate_grrr:
I'd like to see Leach as HC/OC and Venzy as AHC/DC....and Bill in his luxury box enjoying his lovely family.
leach are new hciw
Is anyone against leech as a coach? I'm not a big fan of the guy just because of the game at home two years ago and the way his players taunted our players and fans - while a trainer taped it, that kinda pissed me off.
Pete, I like where your heads at. Bring in Leach and a few recruits and were in business, right away. Top 25 Basketball and Football :combofan:ITS LEACH!! ect. ect.

I would be pretty pumped for Leach as HC, if for nothing more than an opportunity to bring the "Bell Ringer" tradition to KSU.
