I just heard my neighbors switchblade engage next door.  He may as well start looking for new tires now.

LOL! The Gabbert's just own NU in recruiting, they commit, then de-commit.....and make the Huskers look like complete clowns.

Rivals removed Gabbert from the NU commitment list.

Thank God Callahan is gone.

Gabbert has told anyone who will listen that Bo and Carl's huge hissy fit really soured him on nu.  Said it was embarassing and pitiful.

That makes NU 0-3 on surefire NFL quarterbacks over the last four years that were committed but ultimately signed with another Big XII school.  Damn impressive failure, imo.  Gotta give props to Freems and the Gabbert bros for their consistency in kicking Nebraska fans in the nuts.

Freeman sucked and was glad he went to your Jr. high. Gabbert would have been killed playing at Nebraska this year due to our power puff O-Line.
Gabby has a arm, but really can't run with any authority.

He has a better arm than what we have in camp. Lee and Green are better runners, but when you have no holes to run thru it really doesn't matter.
Our receiving corp is hot and cold this year(see Iowa State) and Gabby would have put the ball on the money but would the boys catch it?
Gabby reminds me of Big Ben at the Steelers. Think he'll make some waves before he goes pro.

No, he doesn't. He's in full-on denial mode right now.  Very similar to Ben after about the 3rd of 7 consecutive losses.  No point in trying to involve logic here, cause it's totally lost on this people.

Can't believe NU fans are still so bitter about the Freeman thing.  Isn't it obvious by now that it was a smart decision to not go play for Callahan?  Only mistake he made was deciding to play for Prince.   Still worked out for him better at KSU then it would have at NU.

This just in,,,,,,.....,,...,,.......,,,,,..
The Nebraska staff picked up two huge pieces to the 2010 recruiting class. The Huskers have been looking for offensive tackle help, and scoring the junior college ranks to some extent, as well as trying to find a physical specimen to replace Phillip Dillard at WILL linebacker. The Huskers secured both today from Fort Scott.
The Nebraska staff has been working hard on the road following the Big 12 Championship game in Dallas. The Huskers are beginning to reap the rewards of that hard work with two commitments today.

In a text message from Coach Jeff Sims, the head coach at Fort Scott (Kans.) College, he confirms the commitment of two of his players to Nebraska. "Jermarcus Hardrick has decommitted from LSU and committed to Nebraska. Lavonte David has committed to Nebraska."

Both of the players from Fort Scott made November official visits to Lincoln. According to Jeff Sims then, the two had the weekend off and wanted to see Nebraska and some friends on the Nebraska and Kansas State teams.

After the national championship game, this past weekend, Coach Sims was going to know his players' four-year school choices.

Hemorrhaging = Picking up top JUCO OT and top JUCO LB in the country in the same day.

I hope we can "hemorrhage" like this until signing day.

Few fans (outside those star-lickers on Rivals) wanted the diminutive sketch artist Baby Gabbert as our QB from the beginning.  Too much bad blood and suspicions that eventually came to fruition.  Losing Curtis Carter hurt a bit, though.

And yes, we're still bitter about Freeman, and about Blaine Gabbert.  Both could have helped us.

That said, we've beaten Kansas State without both, so in the context of KSU football, you gents don't have much to say about it, other than Freeman didn't help you guys achieve a damn thing in terms of tangible, lasting accomplishments that build a tradition you so desperately need.

Now I know you're just f-ing with me, as no Kansas State fan can say anything about (over) reliance on JUCO recruiting to any other program in the Big XII, or maybe even Division I FBS.  But, perhaps you are just that stupid.

I suggest you familiarize yourself with your own roster before you clown yourself further.

Maybe watching Zac Lee getting an earfull from bo every time he comes to the sideline might have changed Gabbert's mind, it wasn't completely zac's fault the offense sucks.  Bo is like the Bobby Knight of football.

Good lord.  This thread turned south fast.   :frown:

Typical of most any thread in which vanro participates in.

Checked Nebraska's defensive rankings this year, or any year Pelini has been coaching at NU?  Might want to do that before talking about Bo's coaching ability.  It's been proven, again and again, at every stop, and is widely known in all circles related to college football.

KSU fans might be the ONLY group of waterheaded moutherbreathers who deny Bo's unquestionable coaching ability.  But then again, those who are frightened rarely acknowledge the truth, or face it.

But it's neither here nor there, as we'll continue to kick your ass on the field, while you keep making redneck and missing teeth jokes (as if flyover, ground zero of nowhere Kansas is some gilded, metropolitan wonderland).

Comparing Bo to one of the greatest basketball coaches of all time?  Dude, I think you made that last batch of meth in your bathtub waaaay too potent.  Also, lol @ moutherbreathers.  You kiss your mother with that mouther?

I didn't compare him to anyone.  That was one of your own, &@#%stump.

My bad on the misspelling.  Your womanly school marming skills are quite impressive.

Bill would field a entire team of Juco's. And it worked a few times.

Recruiting a couple of elite JUCOs per year can add quality, instant depth at need positions.  Recruiting 10+ JC kids in any given class to build an entire team is recipe for a KSU-level failure for your football program.

I guess the concept of nuance and moderation is lost on you.  That, and consistent, winning football and sustained achievement.

No doubt if the state of Cornhole actually fielded the type of Juco programs that exist inside the state of Kansas . . . that the Cornhole football progam would take full advantage of it.

But alas since Cornhole JC's don't play any real football to speak of . . . Cornhole fans like Van and GimmeRed are reduced to "explanations" and pure cop outs like, "cherry picking a few elite Juco" players and proclamations such as that.

Cornhole has 4 JC's committed right now, and will likely have more.

Right now K-State has 7 JC's committed, of which 1 if not 2 were placements out of high school.

So yeah, you can see the huge, huge difference.

There's the "N" for nowledge education at work again.

4 JC's? Who is the fourth?
Lavonte David (Fort Scott)
Jermarcus Hardrick (Fort Scott)
Chase Harper (Navarro)

Wooo.  Easy there guy, no need for defending juco players.  I'm sure your coach has a very logical reason for recruiting so many.

I thought Moreno Valley was a JC . . . so my bad.

The point still remains, Bo will have signed anywhere from 6-8 JC's in his first two classes and KSU will have signed about 12 in Snyder's 1st 2 classes.    That's not a huge difference.

I guess I'll get a hold of the late 90's & early 00's KSU teams that consistently beat the Huskers and tell them they were failures since the rosters were loaded with Juco kids.

I don't care where the players come from.  If they have football skills, fit into the system, work hard, and are well coached, they will win games.

Bo signed 2 JC's last year and 3 this year. Not sure how that translates into 6-8 but if it helps make your point...more power to ya.

Come on, dude.  5 and 12 are the exact same number.

Agreed.  I'm not anti-JUCO, and understand how much Prop 48 kids helped Nebraska during our elite years.  I love taking 2-3 top JUCO's per year to add instant playmaking to a team.

But I - and most coaches - know that you can't build long term stability as a program taking a lot of JUCO kids, as the turnover is so quick, it always leaves you scrambling to plug holes, which becomes a vicious circle.

Snyder built some monstrous teams on the backs of JC kids, but the level of success KSU experienced was pretty quick, as evidenced by the tailspin during Snyder's last few years before his initial retirement.  Then Prince came in and f-ed you guys hard with his obscenely JUCO-heavy classes.

Snyder seems to be looking to balance that out with more HS kids so far.  We'll see how it all plays out...

All I know is that your JUCO RB Thomas is a goddamn witch.

Here's the deal GimmeRed . . .  they are building depth with JC players, as I said earlier, there is no JC football to speak of in Nubb, if there were, Cornhole would be recruiting a lot more of them.    K-State will have signed like 42 - 43 guys plus gray-shirts  in Snyder's first 2 classes, 12-14 will be JC transfers, and several of them were K-State placements out of high school.

Doods,

It's like this -

Even though Nebraska won the North in 2005 after signing 7 juco's in '04 and 12 in '05*, that didn't count.  I don't even think they cheered for that team.  We should start calling our linebackers Will, Mike, and Sam.  Then maybe we would have the football smarts to understand these things.

*(numbers may be off a little, but you get the idea)

_________________________________________(Huskers - insert explanation about Callahan while either: a. ignoring the fact that no one from NE had a problem with it back then or at the start of the '07 season when everyone in NE thought they were going to win the national championship or b. claim that you were against it then and hated Callahan from the beginning even though neither are true)
