doubtful, I think Vic would be gone already and i don't know how well the philosophies would mesh.  They may, but Patterson is alot more aggressive.  However, if we get Patterson expect Bumpas (tcu DC) to take over at tcu.

He just keeps getting more and more expensive, though.  We're going to need someone that we can get at a good value.  We're not Notre Dame.

Ever think he may just want to stay at tcu?

he's going to have just about the best season anyone could have at tcu this year and if texas doesn't lose, they have no shot at a national championship and even if texas does lose they probably still don't get in.

sounds fun

What was Krause offering him??  Somewhere around $2.2 to $2.3 million a year wasn't it??

tcu will get brought in to a BCS conference before GP ever coaches at KSU.

Imagine if we had done a National Coach search like tcu did instead of interviewing Prince and buying into his snake oil talk. I get all EMAWWY inside thinking about if we had hired GPat instead of Prince.

Would have been more emphatic if he would have interviewed, appeared very interested, got down to the final details of the contract, then leaned back in his chair and said:
"Eh, go eff yourself. I hate ku. ku sucks. Now leave me alone, I have BCS games to win."

Great. Now we're evaluating coaches the same way we evaluate recruits.

I only want coaches that (http://media.scout.com/media/forums/emoticons/173/quote.gif) really want to be here (http://media.scout.com/media/forums/emoticons/173/quote.gif)and (http://media.scout.com/media/forums/emoticons/173/quote.gif) do things the right way. i just said he'd be less desirable, not that we wouldn't still want him.

it's obviously better to have a good coach that loves the school and the program than a good one that will bolt to west virginia in a year

More fun than the little 10 in your conference. UTerus slips and we are in. If not, pocket the 17MM and move to next year. This was a rebuilding year and we graduate a whopping 13 Seniors.

Hard to believe that it has been a year since "The Fitzeration".

BTW, the previous contract was through 2014. New one is rumored at 2.9MM through infinity. However, since 2012 is the end of the World it doesn't matter.

Why is it that their coach signs a big extension, they're on the cusp of maybe getting a shot at a national title, and yet, they are over on a KSU board to see what we have to say?

LOL. This is the life of the non-majors.

Let me clarify with an analogy:

Hot girls that grow up in the middle/upper class become models, lawyers, weather girls, etc.
Hot girls that grow up poor with daddy issues become strippers and crack whores.
