game in Lawrence.
Hey look . . . single game tickets made available . . . $90 bucks a pop.
Hmmm . . . game on ABC . . . $90 bucks buys a lot of beer, burgers, wings, shots and cheese fries at the old sports bar.

Not to mention with all the "package" deals they've had the likely copious amount of cheap tickets available just before or a few seconds after kickoff.
-
Noticed the attendance for K-State/A&M last week was a little over 44,000.
Yeah, so what??
What does that have to do with $90 dollar tickets for a game that'll be on ABC at ku??
Why wouldn't the ku vs OU game in Lawrence be at SRO at this juncture??
-

It would be higher if we included number of tickets given away.

Just stop it right now. ku fans are delicate and would not want to wither in the open air.
-
I'm surprised they don't go just for the opportunity to yell "Wait till basketball" to the OU'ers.
-
Clearly Sweet Lou is trying to price gouge OU fans wanting to attend the game.
To the Wheel!!!

QFMFT Lew knows the Gooner dropouts aren't going to pay 90 bucks for that crap. :'byecruelworld:

90 bucks is the price you'd pay at NU, OU, or Texas.. but ku? It should be 75 tops. They aren't that good.
-
Can't wait 'til I get home at around 3 from the Bill after getting a big W against the Buffs and staying on top of the Big XII North all while turning on ABC to watch the Sooners trounce the Hawks and see one by one the ku students walking out of Memorial Stadium...
It will be a glorious site...
-
I won't be walking out because I'm not going. You're right, $90 does buy a lot of beer and crap. Besides, if ku wins this one, I'll just lie and say I was there anyway. I read somewhere that if you counted all the people in Los Angeles who claim they were in Dodger Stadium for Gibson's famous homerun, it would be something like 1.5 million, which means about 1.415 million liars. Count me in with that.

I'm sorry, but does this not just sound like heaven?

Well maybe they will sell all the tickets . . . I just kind of think Lew was looking for some suckers, and likely sending the troops out to swing some group discount deals.

meet me at Bobby T's after our game. Best place to find closet Jayhawks/Huskers to annoy.

Gave them away for $90 a pop.

Free tickets over at Hallmark. If you know someone who works there.
Otherwise, still plenty on ticketsforless at less than half face value.
-
Gave them away for $90 a pop.
you can't seriously believe that people are just ponying up face value.
You can find them all over the place for less than half value.
Hey, after our game I'll be sure to watch you guys on ABC. You'd better pray I don't see empty seats in "the bowl". That photo evidence will surely surface.
Of course, it'll depend if it is the first half..in that case, there might be a reasonable crowd.
-
Gave them away for $90 a pop.
So all the places in the KC area giving away free uk tickets actually paid $90 for them? Wow!! Thats like a free $90!!
When are you going to come to the realization that uk Fanbase is one of the worst in the Big 12? :nono:

The tickets being redistributed have already been bought.

This is so rich coming from a fanbase that only had 44,000 for their last home game vs. A&M.

Our fanbase doesn't leave during halftime in a close game and never come back.

Televised to 17% of the country's TVs...

Your fanbase just doesn't show up at all. 44,000 for a conference game? LMAO!

I never said that was a fantastic turnout, but if ku was to get beat 66-14 the week before they would be lucky to fill the stadium with 35k.
-
It's even funnier knowing that ku is fielding a ranked team with their first real chance to beat 1 of the 2 dominant south powers, and they've needed every matter of promos, groups sales, ticket packs etc. etc. to try and get all the tickets moved.
Sad . . .
Bentard K-State is averaging 48,000 a game for an unranked team . . . it's always funny to read people like Bentard bringing that up when for years ku had to lie out their ass to make their attendance numbers even look halfway respectable.

ku got beat, 63-21, by Tech last year and set an attendance record the next week.

Exactly . . . a school with over 30,000 students that needs every matter of promos, ticket packs and giveaways to fill a 50,000 seat stadium while they field a ranked team.
Sad . . .
Nobody cares what kind of attendance records ku sets Bentard . . . how hard can it be for a school of 30,000 plus students with 100K plus alumni within an hour, and KC just down the road to fill a 50,000 seat stadium . . . not hard.

So then wouldn't you also agree that ku football players commenting on half the stadium leaving at halftime (and not returning) during a close and competitive game is pathetic?

44,000? What is this? Conference USA?

30,057 students . . . and we still can't sell out our 50,000 seat stadium.

OU radio station just reported that there is now room for the OU marching band, their families, former music teachers, people who make instruments, people who have seen an instrument and anyone who has ever spelled a word that had both "o" and "u" in it at uk this weekend.
-
All call centers all across KC . . . "hey if you guys sell that extra vita pak you get 2 free tickets to the OU-ku game".
The Friday Pot Lunch raffle at Hallmark will include tickets to the OU-ku game, any leftover tickets will be available at Human Resources after 3:30 this afternoon, just show your Hallmark ID badge.

Ya, ku has never had 44,000 or less at a conference game, especially under Terry Allen.

After doing some research, ku only had one home conference game in 2004 where 44,000+ people were in attendance. That game was against us (ku's super bowl). The attendance for the other 3 conference home games were all less than 40,000. I can't even imagine the years before that. In 2002, there were more KSU fans in Lawrence at the game than ku fans, which is pathetic.

45,000 FWIW. Get it right. Oh, and we had about 50,000 fans at the Tennessee Tech game, and we were 1-2 at the time (two game losing streak). I don't know about you bmw, but to me that is damn impressive.
Lots of K-Statriots... :piratewave:

a ku fan is on here making fun of KSU fans for attendance. Amazing.
FYI Ben, did you see where some Nebraska players called KSU the loudest and most hostile arena in the Big 12? FWIW, they were talking Octagon, better than Allen, suck on that for a minute.
We'll add that to the USC player scoffing at the crowd in Arrowhead by saying "I played in front of 50K in Manhattan, KS and I know it won't be any louder than that"
Say what you want, but KSU has awesome fans. Dare i say 44,000 K-Statriots = 88,000 Hawktards (not that anyone would know what that looks like).

Back in the 80's, KSU was lucky to:
A. "score a touchdown"
B. "win a game"
C. "remain in Division I"
D. "draw 20,000 fans"
or
E. "all of the above"
we'll take your answers starting with "30 year losing streak", then to "Big Ater", followed by "Phil Bradley for Heisman" and end with "BenTard"

ACtually, it was 48,000+ for an 11:30 am start against Iowa State (a fanbase that doesn't travel well). K-State will be lucky to draw 48,000+ for anyone besides ku the rest of the season.

Uh, KSU does real attendance (through the turnstiles).
ku does estimates (which are always horrifically high and everyone knows it).
Remember, any crowd announced by ku is always about 15-20% high.
Thus, your smack is so weak it really doesn't count as smack.

So this afternoon the wife informs me they sent a company wide email to all the employees at the bank that they were asked to enter a drawing for 4 free tickets to the ku vs. OU game.
sellout. lmao

I have to weigh in again and tell BMW to stop embarrassing himself and the rest of us Hawk fans.
It's true. We're crappy football fans. Just never got into it because basketball was so great and football was just an excuse to get wasted. Even in 2007, I must admit I was only passively interested in the team because I'm a basketball guy, and I had a feeling ku would have a shot at the title (and I was right, wasn't I?).
So Ben Tard or whatever they're calling you ... I'm with the cattards on this one. The more you insist the sky is green, the more they'll keep beating on you. Face it, dude ... the sky ain't green and no amount of trying to refract it through your private prism is going to change that.
We suck as football fans. Own up to it, be proud, and go get your basketball tickets.
-
Oh the old phogtard, "back in the 80's K-State was lucky to draw 20,000" . . . yes, during one phase when K-State was going 0-29-1 there was usually only about 18-23,000 there . . . at ku, who was the other team in the Toilet Bowl . . . it wasn't much better.
The funniest part was reading ku media guides and seeing all the attendance numbers inflated and ending in 000.
