After doing some research, ku only had one home conference game in 2004 where 44,000+ people were in attendance. That game was against us (ku's super bowl). The attendance for the other 3 conference home games were all less than 40,000. I can't even imagine the years before that. In 2002, there were more KSU fans in Lawrence at the game than ku fans, which is pathetic.

You can't take any of ku's attendance numbers from back then at face value.

a ku fan is on here making fun of KSU fans for attendance.  Amazing.

FYI Ben, did you see where some Nebraska players called KSU the loudest and most hostile arena in the Big 12?  FWIW, they were talking Octagon, better than Allen, suck on that for a minute.

We'll add that to the USC player scoffing at the crowd in Arrowhead by saying "I played in front of 50K in Manhattan, KS and I know it won't be any louder than that"

Say what you want, but KSU has awesome fans.  Dare i say 44,000 K-Statriots = 88,000 Hawktards (not that anyone would know what that looks like).

Back in the '80's, K-State was lucky to draw 20,000.  Welcome to 2009.  44,000 is pathetic for any Big 12 program.

and 46,000 (ku-ISU) where at least 5,000 of those are freebies is even patheticier.

It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

Back in the 80's, KSU was lucky to:

A. "score a touchdown"
B. "win a game"
C. "remain in Division I"
D. "draw 20,000 fans"
or
E. "all of the above"

we'll take your answers starting with "30 year losing streak", then to "Big Ater", followed by "Phil Bradley for Heisman" and end with "BenTard"

ACtually, it was 48,000+ for an 11:30 am start against Iowa State (a fanbase that doesn't travel well).  K-State will be lucky to draw 48,000+ for anyone besides ku the rest of the season.

Uh, KSU does real attendance (through the turnstiles).

ku does estimates (which are always horrifically high and everyone knows it).

Remember, any crowd announced by ku is always about 15-20% high.

Thus, your smack is so weak it really doesn't count as smack.

I have to weigh in again and tell BMW to stop embarrassing himself and the rest of us Hawk fans.

It's true.  We're crappy football fans.  Just never got into it because basketball was so great and football was just an excuse to get wasted.  Even in 2007, I must admit I was only passively interested in the team because I'm a basketball guy, and I had a feeling ku would have a shot at the title (and I was right, wasn't I?).

So Ben Tard or whatever they're calling you ... I'm with the cattards on this one.  The more you insist the sky is green, the more they'll keep beating on you.  Face it, dude ... the sky ain't green and no amount of trying to refract it through your private prism is going to change that.

We suck as football fans.  Own up to it, be proud, and go get your basketball tickets.

Oh the old phogtard, "back in the 80's K-State was lucky to draw 20,000" . . . yes, during one phase when K-State was going 0-29-1 there was usually only about 18-23,000 there . . . at ku, who was the other team in the Toilet Bowl . . . it wasn't much better.

The funniest part was reading ku media guides and seeing all the attendance numbers inflated and ending in 000.

well of course a concrete tomb is going to be loud as hell.
According to ku police reports, the fight involved as many as 100 people.
“We’re pretty sure an incident occurred,” said Capt. Schuyler Bailey, ku Public Safety Officer
“We will handle any discipline regarding this incident internally, and we will have no further comment about it.” Perkins

Bro-in-law, works at kuMedWest in Shawnee, called me last night to tell me they were giving away tickets for today and that he could snag 4 of them if I wanted him to.     Looks like another jam packed day at Memorial...
