it seems that one walkon at ku just got busted for DUI, and while that's bad, it happens. But it's Chase Buford . . . son of Spurs GM R.C. Buford.
Lets look at Chase's stellar High School resume that gets him a walk on spot at a Big 12 School.
High School: A graduate of Alamo Heights High in San Antonio, Texas, averaged 9.2 points and 2.7 assists in his junior season before missing his senior campaign due to mononucleosis... A three-time letterwinner... Also competed on the school's football team.
Oh well, their just put sugar daddy Compton's kid in there now, he averaged 1.9 points a game at Free State . . . the money will just keep right on flowing no doubt.
Just as a comparison, K-State Walk-on Justin Werner:
High School: 19 points a game, he lead Washburn Rural in nearly every statistical category, and was chosen to a myriad of All State teams, including 1st team All State by the Topeka Capital Journal.
Gotta give ku credit on how blatant they are with this $hit.

Talentless walk-ons are totally killing our program. Total bullsh1t. Totally.

Any of you guys see the movie 'Back to School' starring Rodney Dangerfield? Anyway, Rod plays this guy Thornton Mellon who is totally loaded because he owns a very successful chain of clothing stores (tall & fat). He travels to visit his son (Jason, I believe) at his college and has a real kickass time. So much so that he wants to attend this college. And Thornton always felt kinda incomplete because he never received a formal education. And Thornton loves to party. But there was a problem getting admitted because the semester already started and I don't think he finished high school or some sh1t, so he bought the school a building or something and they let him in. He and his son go on to learn a lot about life and love, their relationship gets stronger, kurt Vonnegut shows up, Thornton pulls of a killer Triple-Lindy to give the swim team the championship, and everything is awesome. So, basically, avoiding all of the bullsh1t (like working hard for things and actually being qualified) always works out for the best. Bill Self loves this movie. And so should you.

MCMW? Or is that a football thing only 'pad?

I think they used that movie in a couple of Robert Downey Jr's trials to prove he was on coke.

I don't know what your sentence meant, but Robert Downey Jr was in this movie. (Jason's roommate)

You don't remember the movie they made to prove that Downey Jr was on coke?

Wait, wait. You're telling me that 'they' made a movie with the explicit and specific goal of proving that Robert Downey Jr. was abusing cocaine?
Wow.

"Shoe me!"

You can almost picture this going on when the Walk-On is late with the weekly "payments":
Rip: [long pause] Julian, this cannot go on forever. You owe me a lot of cash, and I'm carrying you like I'm stupid.
Julian: I know, I know. Just... just please don't cut me off, okay?

Kinda running low on plotlines, aren't "they?"

Kansas guard Chase Buford, a junior basketball walk-on, was arrested Saturday in Lawrence, according to media reports.
Police reportedly stopped Buford just before 1 a.m. on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol. He then was released on a $500 bond, the reports said.
Another example of the lack of institutional control at that renegade of a program known as uk

Package deal . . . and don't forget, according to you he's still "loaded" so there's another way to filter cash into the program to keep players from jumping to the NBA.
-
CJ Henry's supposed to be pretty good too.
:dunno:
CJ Henry is only a walk-on because it was part of his minor league contract that the parent club (Yankees? I forget) would pay his college tuition if he chose to go back to school.
-
What kept Ty Lawson, Wayne Ellington, and Tyler Hansbrough from jumping to the NBA last year? What made Joakim Noah, Taurean Green, Corey Brewer, and Al Horford return to Florida, 'Pad?

Well, 2 are pretty easy . . . Hansbrough and Noah didn't exactly come off the "hard streets". But seriously, you don't think either Florida or North Carolina aren't fully capable of adding a little financial incentive to the fringe 1st round guys in order to keep them around to "win a national championship"?? Come on . . . at UNC there's so many big money boosters desperate to have their name associated with that program they'll do anything they're asked to do to "help".
LOL @ T. Brew . . . every post these days screams anger from that dude . . . I guess he's been so abused on this board he's lashing out now.

Yeah, it must really suck to make $1.6 million + with the Yankees, and then go play college basketball at the University of Kansas. You just can't help but feel for the guy.

i'd hate to be viewed as a wasted investment and a failure. money isn't everything, ben.

I got fired from the Granada when I was a freshman in college. I laugh about it now. They did not give me 1.6 million dollars, but I wish they did. Hrrumph.

Dude has already shown to be a huge bust in baseball, his best sport. How many first round picks never make it out of single A ball? You really think he's going to be any good at basketball?

Does it matter? Do we need the guy? ('F*ck no' is the answer to both of these questions)

I am not the least bit angry with either UNC or Florida. I don't much care for UNC people but I tend to ignore them and frank I live here. As far as Florida goes, I couldn't care less what Billy Donovan does . . . remember, Roy Williams tried to ring up Billy Donovan when Roy was still at ku. Roy didn't like the fact that Donovan was outworking his a$$ on the recruiting trail and tried to get Florida and Donovan hammered by the NCAA . . . fail. Then who was it that got ku basketball placed on probation . . . again?? Roy Williams.
I am just smart enough to understand how the game is played . . . and apparently you live in squawk la-la land and want to believe that stuff doesn't go on, unless you're like Roy and think it directly impacts ku (all the while Roy is green lighting illegal gifts from boosters to ku players).

LOL @ T. Brew . . . every post these days screams anger from that dude . . . I guess he's been so abused on this board he's lashing out now.
love the rational...when presented a logical argument jaynie automatically points to programs cheating without a shred of evidence. typical jaynie...bitter....sad. you confuse anger with loving to frack with your unwarranted self righteousness . :bootyshake:
Good post. Makes a lot of sense.
have another drink...your comprehension obviously goes up after you've had a few. i'm sure you are already on your way...hey...it's monday! :drink:
Another good one. Apparently a rough day in the kitchen isn't slowing down your posting! Have one on me, my service industry friend!
alchy
And as an alchy, you should know I love the service industry!!! T. Brew, you and I are like best buddies. Keep the beers coming, wipe the table down if any gets spilled, keep the t.v. turned to the game and there is a nice fat tip in it ofr you.
To service industry folks!

ah...the spelling and grammar police smack. shows you care about the 'worthless" comment regarding your pathetic university. if you notice i never capatilize either. it's just not that important while commenting on a chat board but suddenly now important. now boys...go back to fondeling a farm animal. or drinking as we all know lsoc has already had plenty today.

I wouldn't have pointed out the spelling issue had you not edited your post.
But it's good to see your letting rage out here, and not on the streets.

Bill Self Said:
"I am very disappointed that we are dealing with this but we will support Chase throughout and I will not have any further comment on this situation with the respect of the legal process and the sensitivity of this issue. All discipline will be handled in house.”
(said but not reported: "Chase, now get on the phone and tell your dad to send you another $25,000, and you'll have to hand it out in the dressing room while apologizing to each of your team mates personally . . . but don't buy any cheese burgers for Collins.")
That story holds as much weight as Bill's "accidental" bump with John Wall...

I suspect Chase's punishment will be to go and buy Coach Self a dome shine and a new wig.

There's Always Football!!!
Dammit!

Chase will have to tote Bill's unused toupees all over campus.

I'm sure the wig is way lighter than that giant f*cking ring on his hand. And why are they unused? Just hasn't gotten to them yet? Why wouldn't they be at home? I don't get it.

I am at least 100X smarter than you. Even when drunk.

Bill's unused wigs are like having an extra shirt hanging in your office. Never know when you might get a little bit sweaty and need to change. pit stains>>>>hair stains :dunno:

OK. I get that part, but why would they need to be carried all over campus? I mean, couldn't he just leave one in his office and maybe a couple in his locker? Do you think he has a locker? I bet he has his own locker ROOM. Badass. Anyway, we should get to the bottom of this sh1t. Pronto.

Wherever he goes, the hair hats have to go in case of a delamination or other emergency.

You never know when some crazed KSU fan might try to steal his wigs for some initiation or other perverse reason and he will need another one.

LOL at our walkons...
Justin M. Werner reported a stolen Xbox 360 worth $280.
