McDonalds Double Cheese Burgers used to be $1 each not 6 months ago. That was a fantastic deal. Now they changed it to 2 for $3 because a lot of their customers don't realize they are now getting screwed. Math is hard, you know.

RIP
though there was also one in wamego (not as good)

aggieville pizza was crappy but really cheap. shuttle was better and still kinda cheap. two fer at bk was dece. also, i worked at maes and that pizza was horendous, but it's impossible to argue free. hunams had egg roll and fried rice for like a buck twenty five. you could ask for xtra hot oil in the rice and after awhile they just started automatically putting it in for me. there was one guy who almost had it out for me. so hot, so good.
the best deal ever was the taco bell two buck lunch. when i was in highschool (mhs), there would be a small tbell coupon in the paper almost every week. it was called the two buck lunch and you got four tacos (crunchy or soft) and a medium drink (free refills) for $2. we would steal stacks of papers, cut out like twenty coupons and then basically live there.

and you didn't even how to give up a precious ksu stub?

5.00 specials at Chinese Chef.
Macho Meal @ Dairy Queen

Taco Tuesdays at Taco Hut
2.00 Big Ass Slice and 32oz Drink
-
I once bought a fundraiser card from some MHK kid for like 20 bucks. Had buy one get one item from MCD/BK/Taco bell and the workers never punched the little place when I used it. I used the shlt out of that sob.
-
2.00 Big Ass Slice and 32oz Drink
yeah gumby's used to be respectable. now they are just another expensive pizz. place. and their quality sucks as well.

i've been using some papa johns "welcome to the neighborhood" buy one get one free coupon for the last year. have used it ten times. have never been asked for it.

Also 2.99 Tuesdays at subway.
yes, the line at the union would be very long on tuesdays but it was like a day's worth of food. but at $2.99 wasn't really cheap either.

damn i forgot about that. very difficult meal if you didn't have a car (mine died and never got fixed) but incredible value.
also forgot about the ville pizza hut's lunch deal on wednesdays- $2.99 for a personal pan pizza (1 topping) and $1 large sodas? something like that.

SD, get the McDouble. it's the same thing as a double cheeseburger minus one piece of cheese and it's on the dollar menu (my lunch atleast 1-2 times a week :lick:).

i hate to be a stickler here but i had the mcdouble for the first time five days ago and it is not the same thing as the double cheeseburger that was once proudly featured on the mcdonalds dollar menu. the meat is not as good/tasty/flavor engineered. different deal here.
-
the 10 cent wing night at Aggie Station before it burned down, then blew over when they were rebuilding it, RIP
wendy's or mcdonalds dollar menu (this was before they raised the price of the 5 piece nugs @ wendy's)
dillon's buffet stuff/salad bar
rusty burgers
-
the 10 cent wing night at Aggie Station before it burned down, then blew over when they were rebuilding it, RIP
also had half price food on thursdays

i dunno, taste the same to me. did you go to the mcdonalds in westport? may be the reason for the craptyness.

only went there on wednesdays because one of the girls that always went with us knew the bartender and i'd get smashed there every time (was only 19 at the time :beerchug: )

nice, I always bring the coupon along in case they do ask but never give it to them willingly.
-
you can do the same by telling them you are a AAA member.
-
was the place w/ 10 cent wings Tula's? I know it was at one point. lots of places had 10 cent wings, tho.
-

possibly, i believe it was something like safari jacks before it was aggie station. it is currently where those condos are.

50 cent legs at BWW.... not sure what day.

that was not across from domino's.
"Aggie station" was something different every year I was in school:
Lucky's
Gilligan's
Safari Jack's
Aggie Station
Condo that blew over

Joe's taproom, the place across the street from Fats, Porters and Aggie station all had a 10 c wings day Monday-Thursday. Joe's were by far the best.

They had 10 cent wings at Joe's (same place Tubby's is now) but they would limit you to 30. 50 cent tacos at porters is pretty good on thursdays. I just had a $1.75 cheesburger at purple pig last night which was muh, but for $1.75 you can't complain (also saw fitz there, he was eating with the gopowertard softball team, he even talked like he actually played which must be a lie because I'm pretty sure there's a weight limit).
The best coupon I ever got was for an absolutely free chinese meal from dillons that included two entrees and an egg roll or crab rangoon plus drink, all free, you can bet I made a zillion copies of that and went about every week the whole semester :lick:
-

ya tula's was it. one night buddy said he'd buy wings + beer if i could eat 50 of them. no probs w/ that bet :lick:
-
Tuesdays @ Bobby Ts. $.50 tacos and dollar draws while they replayed the football game from the previous weekend. Really sweet if it was an non-televised road game, because they used some sort of SID tape and played the radio broadcast over it.

I wish I attractive/tall enough to be a bartender. Some people are just blessed.

50 cent 'cos at Porter's on Thursdays. I think they had $1.50 beers, too.
They still do that?
:AA:

Still 50 cent tacos, but the beers are $2 now

There were some excellent Q-Card Deals. $4 large 2 topping pizza at Gumby's (when they were good). The Taco Bell deal.
-
Gumbys pizza is disgusting imo.

the taco bell coupons
1/2 price day/night at safari jacks

The back of the football tickets was always nice -- buy one get one free burrito supreme at the Bell (I think that's what it was anyway). Late night Bell runs (following basketball at the rec) were a common occurrence for me as a student.
Good cheap options: Kreem kup, Q card thingie, BK for a buck, weekly special at Subway, the dozens of 10cent wing places, and best of all, free Sonic Burgers because some guy I knew had a stack of free Sonic Burger coupons taller than me (I think this guy is now in prison).
Bad cheap options: Anything at Rusty's.
SD, what was your favorite iteration where you bartended? I once had a buffalo burger there, but I can't remember what the place was called then.

Aggie Station

Aggie Station
I think that one was good. :dunno:
I forgot to mention Aggieville Pizza and whatever that place was called before it became O'Malley's. The pizza at both establishments was putrid. I think AP had to be a front -- there were always shady types hanging around back, and no one but me and my bud would go in there to eat. (We weren't all that bright.) :beerchug:
Carryout Shuttle was the best. :lick:
-
My favorite "munchie" spot was the BK on Poyntz. In a related turn, does any of the :cyclist: folks here remember the name of the surplus store, downtown on Poyntz, that burnt down? Had to be 83-84. Also, the name of the pool hall, on Poyntz, just down the street from the BK? tia

Gumbys pizza is disgusting imo.
Fav memory is when I went up to Manhattan to visit when I was a senior in HS. Some guy bought me and a couple buddies a Big Ass pep pizza. Instantly fell in love.
:) <---Nobody ever uses this one...

They may have been $.25 when I was there, I just remember them being crazy cheap and pretty damn tasty to boot. Nothing like being able to get drunk and eat way too much for like 20 bucks.

The Ville hutt deal was $2.99 and was on wednesdays. If you knew a certain elite group of 'Dians, you got soda but paid water prices. They were known as "Mountain Waters" if you wanted Mtn Dew and "Pepsi Water" if....well, you get the deal.
