I LOL every time a recruit has to go to a school to see how the "new offense is coming around."  This kid is turning into a Freeman-type recruit.  Sell your soul to get him, wants all kinds of guaranteed crap (PT, NFL offense, Program not built around him and blah blah blah), doesn't &@#%ing win anything meaningful in 3 years, and bounces with his NFL talent and the program in worse shape than when he came.  Bryce Brown (and Arthur) has been about himself from day one. If the kid was a team player and was willing to do what it takes to win, his high school coach probably wouldn't have called him out on being a FP when times got tough. The dude isn't going to help a program win any more games than any other RB in the nation.  He has Reggie Bush type potential with a Maurice Clarett attitude towards school.

Just stop.

This is the reason K-State fans are the dumbest in the nation.

You know what I think will get us that National Title, that we've never had, and have about a 1,000,000:1 chance in getting? Bryce Brown and more like him.

You put Bryce Brown on the 1997, 1998, 2000, 2002, or 2003 teams and we might already have that National Title, at least an appaearance... Yes, even considering Sproles.

But yeah, because he has the right to take as long as he wants, we should drop his offer and be glad that we stopped recruiting.

Good grief K-State fans.

What planet is this? Is this reality?

Look, we don't want this kid.  If he comes here he thinks it's a step down.  He thinks he can take it easy and still be the star.  And why not?  He's the top recruit in the nation!  KSU has never had anyone like that!

Except we play in the Big XII.  We compete against OU and Texas and Nebraska.  He needs to go be hot crap in the ACC or the PAC-10 where the competition is a step down.

Oregon is probably his best choice.  He'll get to play on a decent team against inferior competition than he would see here.  He will never see the field if he goes to USC.

Off the top of my head: If given a choice of recruits, I would take Rock Cartwright, Josh Scobey, Darren Sproles, and Joe Hall above Bryce Brown.

I don't deny the kid has all the potential in the world.  He's big.  He's fast.  He can catch.  He can make people miss.

Bill Snyder should send him a baseball signed by some Yankee legend and a note that says: "Good luck, Chris...err...I mean Bryce."

Or (maybe even worse)...would we want three high school friends coming in who think they are God's Awesome Gift to KSU?

I know you know who Mark Simoneau was, but do you know anything about Jeff Simoneau?  Which one of the Simoneau brothers was the more heralded recruit?

I'll give you a hint...it wasn't even close...by a LONG SHOT...and the more heralded one is not the one that ended up with an NFL career.

thank you.
Now kindly, GTFO and take your weed with you leave your weed so that the shocker can post some truly funny crap. You guys are the same dumb mother &@#%ers who didn't want huggins and that drunk bastard is the only reason we have a decent basketball program right now! you dumbasses think that college sports is about character, it's not, it's about &@#%ing winning. You don't see the millions of dollars that schools get for going to BCS bowls going to the football team with the most good charactered people, you see it go to the teams who have the most wins. Just look a little to the east of us, uk just got done winning the national championship in basketball and winning the orange bowl on probation. I doubt their bank is truly suffering from being on probation, and I know for a fact that they get a crap load of money for making it to a BCS bowl. This is just one of many examples that college sports (the important ones, football and men's basketball) is about wins, not morals.

And it's not a morals thing...I just don't think the kid will turn out to be a good college player.  He's already too full of himself.

Still waiting for someone to argue that he's a better HS RB than Jeff Simoneau (he's not), but Simoneau was more in line with the John Riggins mold.

He's certainly not close to Sproles or Sanders.

Maybe some Wichita people can tell us how he compares to Jeff Smith.

He's not worth slobbering over.  Mark it down.

He is not, will not, and cannot be the Michael Beasley of KSU football - and that is exactly what everyone here is expecting if he comes.

Who give a rat's ass who Jeff Simineau was/is/shall be? The only thing he is doing now is succling off of Marks NFL teet.

By a show of hands, who would NOT want a NC because of morals? *cricket sound* and who WOULD want to have a football team and have mediocre success and be able to hug each other and always "look to the future"? *cricket sound*

There are no successful programs out there that are squeeky clean, NONE!!! Scratch any USC, LSU, OU, UT etc and you will find some $h!t... it is not if, but at what depth do your morals sink to. Why did Bryce's teams suck in high school?  :dunno:

Any chance that Bryce's high school coach was just an idiot?

The coach's son was the quarterback and he changed to a pro style offense this year to pimp his son.
Confirmed on the idiot question.

I bet Bryce is happy that he will never have to play in a pro style offense ever again.

Not going to look it up, but Bryce ACTED happy when talking about the offense where he would only get 20 some carries rather than 45 like his freshman through junior years.  He put up similar numbers in that offense, so don't say the coaches didn't use him.  The fact is that they were and average team with the supposed best player in the nation. Why?

They had other talent also, Demonte Hill played for Buco national champs, Huggins was a big OL/DL who was first team all league both ways, Jawanza Poland had D1 WR talent but never got the ball because of Bryce and his carries, but yet they were still a non-playoff team.

No offense to you Bryce Brown lovers, but the dude doesn't seem to fit in with Bill Snyder teams.  A bunch of players bought in and all about playing for KSU.  Even the stars for LSnyder have been ultra-competitive leaders of some sort, and all of them love K-State.  Just don't see it in Bryce.

Ok how about if Mark Mangino was our coach? His teams are exactly the same.  Leach? Gary Patterson's? Utah? Boise State?  All those teams have succes similar to the DOD, recruit on the same, sometimes a lesser level than KSU, and win games.  Why? They don't have a bunch of guys who think that they are bigger than a program.

That one &@#%ing running back from Boise Ian Johnson took a cut in PT for the good of the team.  Bryce Brown doesn't get PT, he will wine like his brother is right now at Miami.

His peeps called Nebraska back in December. Since Burkhead was already coming to Nebraska, he was told "No Thanks".
Looks like he's running out of options...  :jerkoff:

His peeps have called everyone.  How do you think you get Rivals to declare you the top recruit in the nation?

If the guys that work for Rivals could actually evaluate talent on their own they would be coaching.

Q: Why is Bryce still planning on taking visits to Miami, and recently took one to KSU, two schools he has seen time and time again?

A: So he can get his name chanted at a bball game, and garner more attention for Brian Butler and his scam "training service."

Arthur and Harper already are, but you have to give some props to Butler.  He got them to where they are.

It's just too bad that they are now expected to live up to the legends he created.

wrong. those teams (Sans mangino, that guy sucks) recruit really, really well.

because recruiting is all that matters. everything else is largely irrelevant. look at mhs tennis, ask yourself...was BK really a better coach than JA, or did the talent just get better?

I don't care if you have Barry farking Sanders in your backfield, he isn't gonna do sh*t if you don't have an o-line. I think some of you might be getting a bit ahead of yourselves.

Sure, but you have to be recruiting the right guys.  Talent evaluation is paramount and Brian Butler has shown that he knows how to work the system.  You don't just suddenly get the best LB, RB, and Dual Threat QB in the nation coming out of Wichita off of teams that can't even compete for state titles.

Guys like Jordy Nelson and Ian Campbell don't just suddenly improve.  They just don't get the exposure that Butler has brought to these Wichita kids.

To go right along with your argument.  How does Junction City completely dominate Kansas HS football this year and yet their players get sh*t on by the DI schools?  Coaching?  Or is somebody not scouting them?  I'll bet that Zimmerman turns into a better college QB than Harper.

Junction went 9-2 last year and 13-0 this year.  There's simply no way to do that without Div I caliber talent.

And only one guy got a scholarship?  And he is considered an iffy 2* athlete?

Something is wrong there.  Either their coach should be in the Big XII or there are guys that are getting passed over right in our back yard.

not true.  you can have a team with some d2/juco guys and win the kansas state title.

then you can have a team like Lamark's, who only won like 1-2 games his senior year despite having a great athlete.

team record at the high school ranks isn't necessarily an indicator if they have d1 talent or not.  at least not locally.

You don't go 13-0 and win a 6A title without several guys that *can* be very solid Div I starters.  College football is a pain in the ass.  Not everybody that can do it wants to.

Nobody beats a Butch Albright team 30-6 and finishes as 13-0 state champs without more than one iffy 2* prospect and a few Div II players.

Nobody.  No way.

But if those kids didn't go to summer camps at the DI schools or if they don't have freakishly off-the-charts athletic ability, nobody will notice them.

It doesn't &@#%ing matter if BB is better than Sproles, Murphy, or Walter &@#%ing Payton.

All that matters is that he is better than the crappy backs we have on our roster now. And since I think we can all agree that he is, why the &@#% would you not give him a scholly?

Hutch had won four 6A championships in a row and now one 5A championship.  I am pretty sure none of those kids went to a D1 school.  Most fo them went on to play at a juco or D2 school.

I think a QB went to the Air Force academy but later quit football and transfered out.  So you don't have to have a bunch of D1 players just a group which plays as a team and have the great knowledge of the system they run.

Kansas high school Football is really horrible.  You don't need D1 talent to win a lot of games.
