What do you buy?

dvdrw can be written on more than once but I don't think is as stable. DVD+R is your run of the mill blank dvd that fits almost all formats. Some dvd writers won't write to DVDRW. Go with the DVD+R.

What sd said, and I have had compatibility issues with dvd rw. Wouldn't play on my dvd player.

thanks. i will buy dvd+R. What about the 8gig version in the link? any good?

do you have a dual layer drive (most new ones are)? Verbatim is a good brand.

new computer. don't know. prob. not. RW & DVD+R DL <-- is that it? Maybe

DVD-RW is only better for transferring things from computer-to-computer in my mind. I have seen no other good use for them as many players dont recognize them but computers do. It's basically an "updated" floppy disc that can hold a crapton more.
Go with DVD+R

I would say the DL stands for dual layer, so you can use the DVD+R 8GB blanks.
