If you are like me, I tend to only play 2 to 3 video games at a time. I only get a few hours a night to "game it up" so I tend to stick with a game until I beat it or get tired of it and don't play much else.
-
Rainbow Six Vegas 2. Split screen with friends is pretty entertaining. Ready for a new game, tho.
-
I play a game or two of NCAA Football for my online dynasties. Then either Fable 2 or Far Cry 2
It's a good thing I have no life.
-
NCAA. I think I might go back through MGS4, though. Decisions, decisions.
-
RIGHT NOW:
PC: Warhammer Online. I'm rollin w/ a Black Orc on the Sylvania server. Overall I like it more than WoW, it is more PvP oriented and not so carebearish like WoW is and not a mindless grindfest either.
PS3: LittleBigPlanet, although the online play is currently broken. Single player is fun, a very easy game to get in to.
Nintendo DS: Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney, "Justice for All...". Yeah, I like it. If you don't know, you probably shouldn't ask.
The Wii is collecting dust, as is the PSP until Patapon 2 comes out.
-
Wii: MarioCart but mostly dust collector. going to end up on craigslist soon.
PS2: TonyHawk Pro Skater 2
PS3:
360: Pure demo (thought was getting full game for b-day, but no luck :blank:), COD4, GTA4, Rock Band. Getting GOW2 next week.
PC: died. just got new extreme gaming machine Apple iMAC, haven't set it up yet though. can't wait to game extremely and rage face.
-
Oh yeah i've got an X-box at a friends house that is haxxed. We play super nintendo/nintendo games on it. Games of choice include Super Smash TV, Sunset Riders, STG Strike Gunner, and Super Street Fighter 2: The new challengers
-
COD4 on Xbox, that is it...but I am "shopping around" for a new one.

Gears of War 2?
Or download Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Arcade game off XBLA.
-
360- CoD5 beta (I'm weening off this). CoD4. Halo 3. Portal: Still Alive. Braid. Fallout 3 and Gears 2 will be the next ones I go to.
PC- Call me old school, but I still can't get enough of Civ IV. I'd still be playing Civ II if they ended the series.
-
Forgot about Braid on XBL, stuck on like the first level, fell into a pit and can't get out. great game tho.
-
Tetris, solitare, maybe some worms...

CivIV - did you get the expansion packs? I love CivIV but haven't gotten the 2 expansion packs yet...I know i'd get started w/ a game and just play it all weekend. I love Civ - been playing since the first one. Civ II I like the least but still like it quite a bit, especially the WW2 scenario.

I keep asking for people to join me in some civ IV but I never get any takers...recently I have been playing Civ IV way too much...it was out of hand. I had to step away for a bit. I am sure I'd jump right back in the saddle though if someone wanted to play.

True, however no one makes updated rosters for NHL 93 roms just NHL 94roms.
However, the one thing I loved about NHL 93 was the fact you can start a fight during play stoppages, after goals, end of a period, and the end of the game.
Nothing is more gratifying than scoring a goal and then beating the living shiat of your opponent right after scoring the goal.

PS3- NCAA 09... just started a tcu dynasty :peek:

It is pretty slow, but you usually can bang through the first 100-200 turns in a few hours and before a human player the first person goes to war. Once that happens, turns are every 3-4 minutes which seems forever while you stare and wait.
There are options though, you can use something called 'pitboss'...It allows you to host a game somewhere and then persons can log into it and take their turn whenever they want. They even have websites that will email you when everyone has taken their turn. This is really for much larger games though (4+) and makes the game take forever since you actually have to load civ 4, run your turn and turn it off every day. :banghead:
I have played the game with 4+ persons and 4 cpu a number of times and invertiblely someone quits or sabbatoges the game since they got pinched early. LOL In a regular lan setting it sucks if you take someone out because most of the time that leaves them with nothing to do for 6-10 hours until you complete the game.
You can also set timelimits on each turn but that really sucks most of the time and leads to big time mistakes, especially with noobs.
We also turn off tech trading for a little twist.

Age of Mythology, ftw. It's just as fun as it is nerdy, which means its about the funnest thing outside of stoned sex.

I'd consider Warhammer. Not sure how well it'd run though. I only meet the minimum requirements.

Has anyone played Deadspace? Looks too :ohno:
Saw that at a LAN party this weekend, xbox 360, looked bad ass. Kinda crazy on the guns though...chopping off all their limbs is harder than you think and they lay there pretending to be dead too until you walk by them.
Make sure you play it at night, with the lights off. :ohno: :ohno: :ohno:

Age of Conan?

ya, very realistic looking
-
ya, very realistic looking
From my buddies who have played it -
Great graphics, mature content, fun at first
PvP was unbalanced, "broken", combo system got old fast
End game content wasn't there, sucked
-
from my buddy, who has played it-
-
I got World at War, should be arriving today. I will report sometime tonight if it gets here.
-
from my buddy, who has played it-
It got decent reviews, but not as good as Warhammer Online, mainly citing the reasons I spoke of. Does your friend play a lot of MMO's?
-
ya he's played a ton of them. said he likes the realism. said warhammer is too cartoony.
-
ya he's played a ton of them. said he likes the realism. said warhammer is too cartoony.
Yeah, I guess if you care more about graphics than gameplay AoC would be your top choice.

I'm a fan of all genre, except crappy Wii/Nintendo DS games that make you take care of pet horses and dolphins and whatnot.
-
not me. i pretty much just rage face here and when playing FPS. thinking about picking up CoD4 for PC, does anyone still play it?
-
Saul, did you play Oblivion? Thoughts?
-
Oblivion was pretty cool. I picked it up for $8 when Alco closed. Fallout 3 has a cooler setting though.
-

Have not gotten Fallout, seems depressing and scary :ohno: (< FP)
-
Saul, did you play Oblivion? Thoughts?
Not a big fan of western RPGs. So no.
-
I played Oblivion on the PC for a while. It was a pretty good game I think, I got off the main story and did side quests for a long time, then tried to go back to the main quest and lost myself.
Fallout 3 does seem pretty cool.
What about BioShock?
-
bioshock is def. cool, sp only tho
-
Uncharted is pretty good. MGS4 is awesome.
-
Played both, and totally agree. May try and pick up a cheap copy of uncharted. I borrowed it from a friend and beat it in a week or so.
MGS4 on the other hand is so engrossing, it's hard to pick up and replay for me, because it is so massive, lol
-

This.

Just downloaded the Left 4 Dead Demo.
:ohno:
-
So do any of you guys game on a PC or are you all console d00ds? Because that Left 4 Dead demo is worth its weight in decaying zombie flesh.
Go to Steam and download the demo, like, right now.

It's on the 360. I had the super secret preorder demo a couple weeks ago. I love it. Will probs pick it up after I get done with Gears.
You beat GoW2 yet, clams?

I hear ya. I hurried up and beat it on Normal. Now I hope to take my time with coop on Insane and get all the collectibles. It's gonna be tough.
-
I also got an invite to preview the new dashboard. It's pretty pimpin. The avatars are kinda fruity, but I won't lie, it was a little fun.
-
COD on the Wii its meh but pretty decent with the Zapper attachment
-
Clams or someone else, is MarioKart on Wii fun? Once played it at Best Buy but some asshole little kid wanted to play. Seemed meh. Thoughts?
-
ya, it's pretty fun. def the game i play most on wii.

PS3
1. SOCOM
2. NCAA 2009
3. Tiger Woods
-
I just got Legend of Zelda for the Wii. It's okay so far. Anytime I doubt it's greatness I hear the themesong and the nostalgia takes over.

Fallout 3

It's amazing! The map is huge! I've logged about 17 hours so far just exploring and doing little side missions.
-
Fallout 3 is just like Oblivion, except without color, and a slightly diff. story line
"Oblivion with guns" is what Bethesda said about the game. Kinda true, but more like "Oblivion with guns and minus the fun"
-

360- COD4, NCAA, used to halo it up a bit
PC- Red Alert(Aftermath expansion), Red Alert 2, Sim City, Roller Coaster Tycoon.....I really haven't bought a new PC game in about 8 years. About 1-2 times a year I'll get sucked back in and spend a weekend playing one of those classic titles.
-
Fallout 3

is great
The Pitt was pretty good/fun also

I am probably the PC guru on this site (own no consoles), don't question me.
Every single thing about PC games is better than their console counterpart, except of course when the developer is too lazy to make a PC version and just ports it from the console

free online play
Playstation Network is free :dunno:
Going on with the main purpose of this thread. I've been addicted to MLB 09 The Show and Killzone 2 :users:
-
there are like 3 pc games left. they've completely abandoned us.
-
ps3: gtaIV (yeah late to the game), and eternal sonata
psp: patapon 2 demo, playing cause progress will transfer to full game
-
PC: I'm an MMO gamer and I'll leave it at that
Console: Halo 3. Online play never gets old. Fable 2 when I get bored...that game had so much potential, and though it falls short of my expectations, has good replayability. When football season swings around, I'll bust out NCAA 07, because I'm too cheap to pay for updated rosters when that will be irrelevant after 4 seasons anyway. I liked the new game engine in 09, but not enough to buy it.

I liked the demo for that. I think I'll rent it soemtime.

Yes, its not even close.
Every game that is multi-platform is always dumbed down for consoles
Also, LOL @ you guys who think your console games are actually running in HD, they aren't just scaled usually

I'd say PS3 is close, 360 not so much.
They do run in HD fwiw, generally just 720p though.

what game are you using as a reference that you can say the pc version and the ps3 version are close in relation to graphics, but the 360 version is noticeably different graphic quality?

Anyone who brags about graphics in the generation are retarded. Unless they are completely awful or completely realistic, they're pretty much all the same. Besides, yeah sure, Crysis looked good. Too bad it sucked. What else is there? Civ IV is a good game. Spore? gmafb.
I personally think you're retarded for proclaiming PC gaming to be tops when it's borderline dead. Especially when there wasn't even an argument about it in the first place in this thread. Again, I direct you to my comparison between you and ku fans. You're trying to convince yourself more than anyone else.
-
I won't play FPS/RTS games on the console. The mouse is the only way to go...anyone who says different obviously has not played a FPS/RTS on a computer.
I'll admit that the FPS console games have come leaps and bounds since Goldeneye and their grid point aiming system, but it is still a grid and some games even still use an auto-correct system for your bullets so you don't get mad that you can't aim perfectly.
Adventure/RPG/Sports/racing games have always been my choice though for console and it feels like you need a controller to play these games.
Fortunately, the PC has come leaps and bounds and I can now use my 360 controller on my PC. :)
PC games have not completely died either...here are some titles that have come out or are coming out in the next few months that I want to play.
Empire:Total War
Battleforge
C/C3 new expansion
company of heroes new expansion
Football Manager Live
Elven Legacy
Men of War - although I'm about burnt out on WW I/II video games right now.
We could argue forever about console vs PC, but hands down PC owns console in these fields: mods, online play, and the ability to play something that you didn't pay for and not be banned forever from the network. LOL

You can't use a single game as a point of reference, because games aren't developed independently for each system anymore, they are just ported over.
But for example check out Crysis on a high end rig vs MGS4 on PS3 vs Gears of War 2 (or w/e the most graphically impressive game on 360 is)

not exactly an all star line up you've got to look forward to :shy:
as a former pc FPS player (quake through RtCW) i would love nothing more than to return to the days where the PC was the dominant platform, the reality is that the market has shifted and developers are now coding to the largest audience they can, the console gamer.

Yep - PC gaming is fringe, niche anymore. Still plenty of games I look forward to on it but most of them won't be released for years. :flush:
I'll always hold on to my PC for gaming for FPS/RTS/MMO (eh) but nothing else. It will be a dark day for PC's when they add in Keyboard/Mouse support for all FPS/RTS games on consoles but I doubt that will happen soon, and if it does it will somehow be gimped.
My thinking is they'd have separate servers for kb/mouse players and controller players.

You can't use a single game as a point of reference, because games aren't developed independently for each system anymore, they are just ported over.
But for example check out Crysis on a high end rig vs MGS4 on PS3 vs Gears of War 2 (or w/e the most graphically impressive game on 360 is)
you said PC = PS3 (or close) and the 360 not so much. what are you using to compare then? the game with the most advanced graphics ever vs GoW2? nice one! LMAO
That's the thing it's "close" now but it won't be in a couple of years. What is the most graphically taxing game on the 360 right now? I'll go to my friends house and play it, and lol at the fake water textures and eyeballs popping out of the top of characters eyelids, and their fake looking "teeth", also known as the "360 faces".

i don't know what the most graphically taxing game on the 360 but if you're expecting anything to look as good as Crysis on a high end system does then you're going to be disappointed.
besides, when were graphics important? gameplay trumps graphics every time.

What are you playing?

Fallout 3 looks better on 360

Random side note:
Did anyone else have quake 3 on every single computer in your high school? Shawnee Mission West did, it was pretty sick. Nothing like getting on the computer in a boring class and blowing the frank out of some of your friends over the lan.

no but that sounds elite. would like to fire up some cpma

We play wolf beach demo sometimes here at work.
-
the last few games i have been playing going back a few months is
skate 2 - 360 - played the demo and it was fun so bought the game. havent played a skating game in a long time, really fun.
madworld - wii - fun but short but would recommend for all the stuff it does right
crackdown - 360 - been meaning to check it out since i got my 360 late last year. really great. beat it but want to get a few more achievements
simpsons game - 360 - got it for cheap, am a fan of the show. i think the game sucks
henry hatsworth - ds - its platforming action on the top screen and puzzle on the bottom. started it this weekend, its really great

LOL
Battleforge is garbage, btw.
That sucks..my initial interest was drawn to the game because of the cards, ala magic. I was hoping that they could get something together that works.

im ok not super great but solid. there are so many moves and combinations i didnt try to learn them all at once. i just stuck with the basics and then learned the other moves as i needed to do them. i need to go back to that game and finish a few things.

I play mlb '09 the show, and they just released FFVII for download on psn, so I'll be wasting a lot of my free time on that.

None atm. Bought some arcade games (UNO, doom, contra, duke nukem). Will probably borrow Crackdown from a friend, I really liked the demo. I want to play Mass Effect as well.

This kinda hurts you in the long run, imo.

Yeah, it drags a little at first but it will pick up. I would recommend buying/dl'ing the guide. There is TONS of sh*t that you can do but without the guide you're left to just stumble upon it all. Must admit, I got my guide for free and would never spend 15 bucks on a video game guide...

Don't have what you would call a "Gaming System" but I play this game all the time. I'm awesome.
