Why isn't Prince catching more sh*t for spending so much on recruiting with such horrible results?  The other big spenders on that list pull in top ten classes all the time.

eh, what can you do except what has already been done?  He knows he has 2 years to catch MU...why beat him over the head with it?

I like [fill in the name of 2* OL that plays basketball and is above 6'5" so automatically he will be a good lineman].

I also think that [fill in the name of a 3* JUCO RB with qualifying issues] will be a good addition.

what else do you want me to say? I've been beating that drum since it became apparent he can't recruit worth a sh1t. (2 weeks after freeman)

I'm a little surprised that there weren't lots of fans all like, "What?  You mean that not only does he suck, but he's spending serious dough in order to suck, too?"

That said, he should be able to bring in another stud QB after Freems.  But that's not 2009 recruiting talk, bros.

Those 5 grey stars represent the amount of times he will be offered a greyshirt before he decommits.

Yup, we should all be pi$$ed with a top 35 recruiting class.  Unacceptable.  We need to be top 5 EVERY year.
Obviously top 5 recruiting classes = winning games!  Like Texas(cough, cough).

LOL, San Diego State decided to offer this 2-Star QB (who also had ZERO other offers) instead of Schilz.  http://sandiegostate.rivals.com/viewprospect.asp?Sport=1&pr_key=70486

Top 35 was before half our class went down the toilet.  Anyone that would rank the remainder of our class in the top 60 is retarded.

Good point.  I also think it is similar in the way it was just so bad, all the time and we started out with high hopes and were always thinking "maybe he knows something" but in reality it is snowballing and getting totally out of control and in 2 years will fall apart.

Second question, is there another black D-I coach who is worse at recruiting high profile black athletes?

Probably true, but I'm no expert on this years incoming class at either of those institutions.

Unfortunately, Randy Shannons ability to recruit the "South Kansas Region" not only compensates for Wilson's and Gill's shortcomings or restrictions, but it makes Ron Prince look that much worse. The fact that both Brown brothers opted to leave the state of Kansas is SO disappointing and discouraging to fans, that I think it's largely ignored and not talked about.

No matter what Ron Prince does people are going to hate Ron Prince . . . Ron Prince goes 10-2 the haters will come up with other irrational reasons to hate Prince.

This has been a message from the PPM

You can't argue with that. Haters are a fact of life.

I've been a Ron Prince supporter for the last two years despite some pretty intense pressure from a couple of the more vocal "haters" on this board, who are more in the know than I.

IMO, it's no so much that Prince is a bad coach or a bad recruiter, it's the illusion that he's a bad coach and a bad recruiter. It's when the illusion is reinforced with 7 game losing streaks, staff attrition, missing on the two best recruits from the state in the last 30 years (or at least since Barry Sanders), etc., is when the haters come out and start taking cheap shots. They are just adding imaginary fuel to the illusion of a fire.

Bro, I'm not hating at all.  It's hanging out with Pete and zacker that have me doubting.  I had Pete believing after Auburn game.  I think it is '07's skid and the apparent bad recruiting that have folks hating.  I just think that a charasmatic black coach like RP should be cleaning up, especially with the lure of instant playing time.  My jury is still out.  Beat Louisville and I will be all... :ksu: :ksu:

We're in agreement. I even think we may have watched the Auburn game together last year. I was in from out of town and watched it with Pete. If you watched it with Pete I was there... and there was much to be excited about in the game. Obviously 0-1 was not good, and it appeared there were problems on the O-Line. None-the-less I was a believer too. It was an epic fall at the end of last season however with major staff losses in the off-season, and big misses on the recruiting beat that have people doubting. Although I don't consider myself a hater, I'm a doubter right now...but that's only logical at this juncture. I hope Dax is right on the money and we're all being foolish, but I think I'll wait until Louiville as well to get any hopes up.

How am I supposed to guess that?  They didn't teach that type of deductive reasoning out on CommAve.

BTW, I wrecked the scoot up a bit in the Rivermarket.  Didn't actually wreck it per se, but clipped a truck with by left brake handlebar.  Lesson learned, don't drive a scoot with a drink in your hand.  Folks, if you drive a grey Toyota truck that parks in the handicap spot at rivermarket, my bad.  Sorry for the scratch on your door.  It will buff out.  Don't be a lazy racist.

Recruiting:  Ron should be a star with NFL ready black athletes who want instant PT.  Browns should be here and would be stars.

after summer evaluation, schilz is now listed at the 36th best pro-style quarterback.  though no stars yet, which is odd.  hopefully he has a really good senior year.

Pretty good news when Tulsa is ranked ahead of us.

Schilz is now a three star.

I still prefer to view him as a 2 grey star QB.

"Won't qualify"

Safe assumption?

Why isn't Prince catching more sh*t for spending so much on recruiting with such horrible results?  The other big spenders on that list pull in top ten classes all the time.

what else do you want me to say? I've been beating that drum since it became apparent he can't recruit worth a sh1t. (2 weeks after freeman)

I finally figured it out.  Why Princess does not recruit Kansas.  It's because he likes to play CEO and fly to wherever he is recruiting.   :runaway:

Ron Prince is the Tom Asbury of recruiting.  Discuss.

He has [allegedly] tried to bang a married Manhattan woman whose husband was associated with the university, just like Tom [allegedly] did.  :fatty:

yeah like that would be the first time.

We'll sign him anyway.  He'll look great in a Coffeyville uni next year.

Information has it that this was the thought at first but I guess he has hit the books hard. or got the  DA treatment and passed his Algebra class without making the grade.

He's a DT.  Look for him to commit over the weekend, then open up his recruiting in a few weeks.
