I'm not going to be so bold as to make this as a prediction on this particular board. But, first of all, you can see how much better we've gotten over the course of the season thus far. All I'm saying is that I wouldn't be surprised. We could go undefeated in conference play. It is a definite possibility.

I don't know.
1st, Nebraska is tough to beat in Lincoln. (Maric :ohno:)
2nd, we have to go to Baylor and we all know Drew has things turned around in Waco. Plus, who could forget our last trip to play the Bears. ( :blindfold:)

Good point. Tonight's opponent beat a team coached by Larry Eustachy who once almost made it to the Final 4 (got hosed by the refs) and was a national coach of the year.

It's hard for me to try and stay objective and just prepare for 13-14 wins in the Big 12. But, this team has something about them that 16-0 is not out of reach at all. If you don't believe that, ask yourself this. Is there a better starting five right now in the Big 12? And the scary thing is, they are just now starting to click. :drool:

Look, we've got a great team, but they are still learning how to play together. The more experience we get the better we will be. Do I think we will win the natl championship? no. Big 12? doubt it. But I think this team/program is heading in the right direction and we will be good for quite a while, especially with even more talent being brought in. :ksu:

how many games would our 2nd 5 lose in conference? i'd say both to our 1st 5, maybe 1 to ut or a&m, prolly split with the fighting marics, and then MAYBE drop another on the road somewhere. so, 11-5. not bad.

12-4 for the second 5 would be a disaster. I'd likely mail my diploma right back to President Wefald. Who is going to stop Luis Colon in the paint? Even if they double down on Luis you know that DK is going to make them pay from the perimeter.

w/ Samuels arrival Colon is relegated to 3rd group of 5 which IMHO would prolly go 8-8 in conf considering they'd go 0-4 combined against our 1st 2 groups of 5

speaking of the 3rd 5, they might drop some games early with hoskins not being quite the defender he used to be after the injury. but let's face facts. we are not only good, but DEEP. we have a couple of guys who could have had scholarships at a lot of schools, but CHOSE to walk on at ksu.
like i said, the 3rd 5 would take their lumps early, but when hoskins starts getting his mobility back, look out! they would be a team no one would want to play in the big 12 tourney.

I think they go 9-7. mcmw I think you are underrating the kind of talent that WB Hoskins has. You can spin around on those things. Also take into account Franklin is shooting 33% on 3's this season and hit 100% of them against FAMU. This would be a tough and gritty team to watch.

Our 2008 recruiting class would probably go 7-9 in conference easily.

Beasley will stay because he is still a kid, not quite ready for the NBA culture yet. Also, his mom will want him to stay one more year.
Walker will stay because the NBA could still have questions about injuries, especially if he gets banged up during big 12 play.. Beasley could overshadow him as well...

I definitely see this happening. If not 16 wins, at least 11. AT LEAST. That'll be enough to start us on our road to the final four...and championship.

Scenario: K-State beats ku and guarantees that we play in the conference tourney title game. Is the conference champ guaranteed a spot in the NCAA tournament regardless of the RPI standings?

It is seriously going to take someone's A++ game to beat us in conference. We gave up one LUCKY 3 pointer in the second half. That's it. If we keep that up we are going to win every second half we play. :ksu:

I've been a cat fan all my life, through the good and bad years. I'll be in my seat wearing purple for every game but if you honestly think we are going to win a NC you are crazy and should go see a doctor. We make so many young mistakes, and we don't have the option of waiting for these players to mature, by that time it will be to late and they will be in the NBA. At least they can say they stopped by the little apple.
