I know I have a problem, though.
considering how internet addled (this extends well beyond ksufans.com, I am a political blog junky) I am I wonder if I would have dropped out by now had I also been able to affod an Xbox. I'm pretty sure I would have.
-
I know that if I had a job that required....work....I would be way down. I don't spend too much time here when I'm off work.

Pretty much. It's in the background most of the time.

Look at the bright side, you are a really really really good message board poster. Something to "talk" about imo.

QFT. This really works great in a social setting.

Do or did you ever get that "oh crap" feeling in your gut when you log in to a message board and it says you are banned? I hate that feeling. All of those posts, for nothing.

When I get banned from gpc.com, I get angry.

Rusty what job allows you to "work" in this manner?
ECN. You have beer at your work. No complaining. :curse:
-
i have this up all day. i minimize when i get bored and call it back up when enough time passes to where i think something cool has been said.
good point about the beer.
-
Rusty what job allows you to "work" in this manner?
Engineering. I just happen to be the best at what I do in the company (pretty much just 3d modeling), and continually exceed expectations.

Son of a bitch.
-
Dude, I'd rather be a teacher/coach. I almost left engineering to become one about a year ago.
The problem with that, is, I'd be poor.
-
"You know who is a good 3-D modeler? Rusty."
-
The problem with that, is, I'd be poor.
dude, im sure you can pinch a dime so tight that youd stretch it for a month.
you know the old saying....
find a job you love, and you never have to work a day in your life.
i started out as 2nd grade teacher.

Not where I am now (2 kids, wife at home w/kids previously mentioned, owning house, saving for retirement, college, etc.) Cutting that income in half would kind of be a killer. Someday, but not now.
the problem with that is you can't brag.
You can if you're a kickass basketball coach.
-
I didn't know you had 2 kids. Thought only 1.
I work in IT, so I don't really get in trouble for surfing the net all day. After all, it's "part of my job".
I'm trying to earn a degree so I can do something challenging.
-
I used to just have one.

Engineering. I just happen to be the best at what I do in the company (pretty much just 3d modeling), and continually exceed expectations.
That's the key to surfing the net at work -- get a decent/well paying job you can easily exceed expectations at

you know the old saying....

i can attest that this is complete bullshït. i love what i do, am incredibly poor, and it really sucks.
-
it means that its not work since you love what you do.
has nothing to do with being poor. and it attests to you since you said you love what you do.

How do you know you're not fooling yourself about what it is you love to do?
-
i'm pretty sure it´s the being incredibly poor part that i don't like.
-
it means that its not work since you love what you do.
more accurately, it's not work because no one pays me.
-
oh &@#%. that throws everything off.
-
i'm pretty sure it´s the being incredibly poor part that i don't like.
If you were doing what you truly loved to do, being poor wouldn't bother you. You must be fooling yourself.
-

why wouldn't it bother me? there is more to life than doing what i do. money would make that part nicer.

It sounds like you made a bad career choice.

No, it's different. You'd be happy if you moved to Boulder, Colorado, though.

No, it's different.
you're prob. right. it is, at the very least, an underlying theme to a good 50% of my posts though.
