Only stayed for the first half, and thoroughly unimpressed.
ku's secondary (including Talib) can and should be exposed by a good team.
Reesing is small, and never once did I see a legit spiral.
O/D-lines looked small.
Mcanderson fumbles a lot.
WR's are big and pretty quick, but quite a few drops.
Rivera looks decent, but sometimes slow in the head.
FIU's qb ran all over the place on 'em in the first half. Screens and draws should work on them.
Crowd was weak. Lots of people left at half.
-
my sources say similar. Reesing throws are LOL. Mcanderson runs a 4.7 tops.

qft for sure.
Is quite large though.

Ne1 go to the UT - Rice game? I think HD makes them look better than they are?

i didnt go to the ku game.
already knew of this.

Just wait until they see some Big 12 speed on defense.

they won 55 -3 so they couldn't have been as bad as you make them seem. I do think we can pressure the hell outta Resseing's 5"9 punk ass.
-
1. Did you actually watch the game?
2. Reesing was awesome last night. He has great pocket awareness for a QB, has good instincts, and throws a very good football. He's been throwing perfect spirals all year long. He has also shown the ability to run the option and make great decisions with the football.
3. ku's secondary is much better than it was last season. Talib is incredible, and there's depth opposite of him with Chris Harris, Kendrick Harper, and Phillip Strozier. ku doesn't even play Anthony Webb, who had 2 picks and a TD against K-State last season. Seriously, your FBIQ is horrible if you think there's anything wrong with ku's secondary. K-State, IIRC, is the team with suspensions and injuries plaguing your secondary.
4. O/D-lines looked small? Were you in the nosebleed section? Anthony Collins and Caesar Rodriguez, ku's starting tackles, go 6'6 310, and 6'7 300. The rest of the o-line is 6'3 300, 6'3 305, and 6'4 310. The d-line features one of the best d-tackles in the Big 12 in James McClinton, and Todd Haselhort is 6'4 300, and would start for K-State. You must have been referring to FIU.
5. McAnderson's fumbles were bad, but they were both on breakaway runs where he was trying to gain extra yards within the 20 yard line. This was the first game I've ever seen him fumble. He scored a couple nice TD's in the 2nd half and will run right over K-State's linebackers.
6. Rivera brings the woodshed on every tackle. Mortensen had a better game though and would be starting at Nebraska right now if Callahan wasn't incompetent. James Holt had a nice game also and ku's linebackers looked good against the speed of FIU.
ku beat FIU worse than Penn State and Miami, and now has 20 votes in the Coaches poll. I hope your team underestimates ku as much as your fans seem to be doing. I don't know what the hell you've seen from K-State that's so impressive, but ku has looked dominant. I don't care what you say about competition, this ku team is legit. I will be shocked if K-State has improved as much from last season as ku, and we beat your team 39-20. It probably should have been more, but Kerry Meier's shoulder was bothering him and he turned the ball over a couple times in the red zone.
Can't wait until October 6th!!!

Like I said I left at half, and it was 20-3.
They'd had multiple turnovers, at least 3 dropped passes (one in the endzone that ended up costing them a td I believe), Reesing threw a couple really bad balls that should have been picked off, and ku in general looked really flat/lazy in a lot of positions.
Obviously could be a lot of excuses. Not being pumped to play your fourth straight cupcake, or just an "off half".
They won't be able to play a first half like that in the big 12.
I'm not trying to make them seem bad. They just didn't look very good, and FIU was terrible.
-
FIU has lost 15 straight. Sheesh.

ku beat FIU worse than Penn State and Miami,
LOL
-
He has great pocket awareness for a QB
As opposed to a tight end or perhaps a defensive back?
-
So I guess all these guys voting for ku to be top 25 and the guys who are ranking Aqib Talib as one of the top CB's in the country are all just biased. I'm sure that these scores and statistics are just a result of ku having a terrible football team. I'm sure there was no bias in the initial post from a K-State fan who attended a ku game.

Didn't CU pound a MAC team 42-0 this weekend?
They should win the north.

1. Yes...first half.
2. Didn't say Reesing looked bad. He did get away with a couple throws that should have been picked off, though. Not that he's the only qb to ever do that.
3. FIU had some pretty small/weak looking wr's and I saw them behind the ku secondary on a few occasions and their terrible qb had no idea what was going on so he'd take off for 15 yards.
4. Sat 35 yard line on row 9, and I've been to probably well over 100 college football games, so I think I have some idea of what big linemen look like. And ku's didn't look that big.
5. Fumbles were bad and came at awkward times. Looked like he just forgot he was carrying the football.
6. Rivera is the biggest mooch I've ever seen. He consistantly got to plays late and therefore someone would already have the ball carrier by the foot and he'd jump on to finish it. QB ran right by him a few times.
7. October 6th is going to be fun.
-
I'm sure that these scores and statistics are just a result of ku's opponents having a terrible football team.
FYP, and now you're correct.
-
Didn't Toledo beat Iowa State?
Didn't Nebraska barely sneak out a win against Ball State?
How bad is Mizzou's defense?
What has been so impressive about K-State?
Have you seen Colorado's depth chart?

Um, Penn State won 59 to 0 vs. FIU. Last I checked 59 points was more than ku's 52 point margin, Einstein.
BTW, LOL at comparative scoring. Does this make Wofford > Penn State?

Fumbles, dropped balls, wobbly overthrows. Not being biased. It all happened did it not. And yeah you can say they came back and played a great second half because they did, but if that were a real opponent might have been a little different story.
-
Name one QB who throws a tight spiral on every throw. Reesing's throws are mostly spirals, but sometimes he does throw on the run and doesn't get as nice of a ball to the receiver. I could care less how his throw looks as long as it goes to the receiver and not the defensive back as Josh Freeman continually likes to do.
I've already pointed out your bias in the o-line/d-line. They are far from "small."
This same FIU team only lost 23-9 to Miami (FL) and had a lot of success running on Miami's defense. The same cannot be said for their performance against ku. Say what you want about level of competition.
-
He's been throwing perfect spirals all year long.
your quote says all year long.
you are incorrect as animated gif 2 proves.
-
You picked a play in which Reesing throws a TD pass on the run to a receiver 35 yards downfield. That's far from proof that he never throws a tight spiral.

I sat with about 5 or 6 other ku fans, and they all said Reesing rarely throws a perfect spiral. You'd think it wouldn't matter much, but I'm sure it has a lot to do with those dropped balls.
Yeah, I guess I'm being biased by saying the lines looked small.
LoL @ basing your teams worth on comparing the ku game w/ FIU to how they did against the worst or one of the worst Miami teams in recent history, and weak Penn State. If it makes you feel good that you beat FIU by more than Miami did then good for you.
I'm glad ku is off next week and have yet to play anyone worth a damn. Should be fun watching us expose all your weaknesses on Oct. 6 because fatman was too pussy to play someone real and find out what he really has on that team.

Just an fyi not that any of this crap matters but Penn State beat FIU 59-0 so ku didn't in fact beat them worse then Penn State did. I'm pissed that ku doesn't play next week because I'm ready for them to play a real team. They may even be legit no one knows but I'm just sick of all the talk and ready to see ku put up or shut up. Them having a bye next week ensures this crap will go on for another week.
I just don't think I can take any more who is better San Jose State or Central Michigan arguments. Though it is kind of funny several ku fans on here stated it as a known and obvious fact that Central Michigan was clearly better then San Jose and then they go out and get blown out at home by a 1aa school that was d-II just a few years ago.
-
Talib is incredible
I've had the pleasure of watching a the likes of T. Newman, C. Canty, J. Butler, the late D. Williams (from oSu), and this list could go on and on. I have seen these players in person several times each. They were all NFL corners. I have also been able to see Mr. Talib in person a few times now. Talib is not as good as many other corners I have seen. I'm not saying he will not make it the NFL, but I think will only be a good nickel back in the NFL or a back-up/"co-starter" safety. Both which will require him to gain some weight to handle the NFL run game (nothing unusual for college guys though). He has a nose for the ball, but he just doesn't do anything physically that wows me (speed, bait the QB, catch-up speed, run support, strong physical play) like others have.
-
Given their schedule, which was not even bottom of the barrel but the dredge that seeped through the bottom and mixed with mud below, the only thing we can say for sure about ku is they would have a solid chance at the Championship Series cup— if they got to play them all at home.
That's an accomplishment for the fatman, because it wasn't true five years ago.

hey,
Nodody is claiming ku is terrible...just not all world and competitors for anything signifcant above a mid tier bowl and maybe 4-4 or 5-3 in conference. You will get to a bowl btw with your joke sched.
"and throws a very good football."
Ummm, Reesing is known for throwing a few wobblers at times but not the consitent spirals you'd expect from a QB.
-
You picked a play in which Reesing throws a TD pass on the run to a receiver 35 yards downfield. That's far from proof that he never throws a tight spiral.
Then the animated gif posted above, in your view,...is a tight spiral?
lol
-
Ummm... no?
My point was that it was a 35-yard wobbler that went for a TD. I could care less if it's a spiral. I've seen all of ku's games this season, and the majority of Reesing's throws are accurate passes with a nice spiral. He does occasionally throw a wobbler here and there, just like every QB in the history of football has at one time or another.
What is Josh Freeman's TD/INT ratio again? I knew at one point it was 6 TD, and 17 INT, but I'm pretty sure each one of those passes was a nice, tight spiral.
-
He's been throwing perfect spirals all year long.
then, does this need to be edited? lmk

Haven't you left at halftime after all of ku's games this year? And then come right here to this board to brag about destroying another MAC team?

My summary of this:
'07 ku >> '85 Bears
Reesing> Peyton
Reesing> Peyton + Elway

Reesing for Heisman.

I remember several weeks ago how big and bad NU was and they would steamroll the North with ease. Well after an a$$ kicking at home and a performance that can best be described as embarrassing (defensively anyway)..... the Big Red is not tooting their horns near as much
Give it a few weeks........ and ku fans will sound like NU fans
-
I've seen all of ku's games this season, and the majority of Reesing's throws are accurate passes with a nice spiral.
Haven't you left at halftime after all of ku's games this year? And then come right here to this board to brag about destroying another MAC team?
Dammit, you beat me to it. I was going to FHP like thus:
I've seen the first half of all of ku's games this season

Seriously, your FBIQ is horrible if you think there's anything wrong with ku's secondary.
LOL at YOU commenting on ANYONE'S FBIQ!!! :loly: You are hilarious!!!

Reesing has put up some unbelievable numbers this year. I think he's the real deal. Sure, his passes may be a little bit wobbly, but judging from that gif he gives them plenty of loft so they are easy to catch. It is nearly impossible to throw a 35 yard pass that high in the air and get it to stay in a spiral. Freeman can't make that throw. Josh's pass would get there much faster (probably before the receiver got open) and be much more difficult to catch due to the high velocity. That gif clearly shows that there are big advantages to having a QB who is 5'6" inches tall rather than 6'6". High loft >>>> hard to catch bullets.

watch the other QB before you speak
freeman + figurs = texas taint getting torn for a 6

Sure, Figurs and Jordy can catch those balls, but what if we had crappy receivers? Wouldn't you prefer a soft touch on the ball? The kind of soft touch that a quarterback who is 5'4" tall is forced to perfect? Reesing can make those throws every time. and consistency wins football games.

otherwise known as lame ducks?
-
It's like an eephus pitch in baseball. If your QB is 5'1" tall with a weak arm, you know it's coming and you can easily make the play. When your QB is 6'6" with a cannon hanging off his shoulder, you really don't know.
Plus, to throw a spiral, you have to put a lot of spin on the ball. That also increases the difficulty in catching it. It could spin right out of your arms. When your 4'10" inch QB throws you a wobbler it is as easy to catch as a basketball pass.
Consistency wins football games.

first that ball was what a 40 or 50 yard bomb in a spiral that was tight, like a man's ass (not a guy from ku though). i would like my QB to toss the ball like freeman in that texas games, especially that figurs pass. that soft touch on long plays will get you into trouble when it gets in the air too long and the safety comes over the top.
-

Right. It doesn't compare to the shorter Reesing throw. Thanks for admitting your error.

Ya know a majority only has to be 51%
-
SOUL, that's some funny $hit! I just sit here at work and when I started reading that I just laughed my ass off... people at work think I am a freak - oh well.
-
I really hope Prince put all his marbles in on the Texas game, we've got no prayer against JCCC-L. JCCC-L by 21 easy.

who's sock is this? Dumb enough to be a ku fan, but I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not. Quality sock as far as believability... but not humorous at all.

maybe you should watch a football game and see how many throws to a wideout are suppose to be a loft. those lofts that reesing throws are usually pick 6s for a safety or cb. watts, baldwin, chandler and garvin will appreciate reesing's contribution to their stats.

How many pick 6s has Reesing thrown this year? I'll give you a hint. It rhymes with hero. Maybe you should watch a football game and see just how great a 4'7" quarterback can be when he uses the proper amount of loft. :-*
-
I still don't get why this sock is funny... because reesing keeps getting shorter?

I wonder how tall Reesing will be at game time.

Because you (and others) continually don't get it.
I don't think it's a sock.

Wow, 20 votes, KSU has been in the top 10 for whole seasons. Don't ever talk about rankings if your not in the top 25.
-
Reesing can throw the ball about as well as he can see over his O-Line. I think he will only last 3 quarters against the Cats. He will come out early in the 4th because of calf cramps that he got from getting on his tip toes to take each snap.
-

oH, I get it... I get jokes.... no really... that's the stupidest &@#%ing thing you've ever said; and you've had some doosies.
It's funny because there's no joke there and people are looking for the joke because it's so retarded that the only way it could exist is for the purpose of humor.

What is Josh Freeman's TD/INT ratio again? I knew at one point it was 6 TD, and 17 INT, but I'm pretty sure each one of those passes was a nice, tight spiral.
Damn straight.

You would think that the height thing would get a little old... but it just gets funnier and funnier - MAN that's some good stuff!
BTW, if Todd "I represent the Lolly-pop Guild" Reesing puts any air under his passes - our defense will work him like a chicken wing.
-
You picked a play in which Reesing throws a TD pass on the run to a receiver 35 yards downfield. That's far from proof that he never throws a tight spiral.
he's not on the run.

I bet after every practice Mangino scoops up little Reesing and deposits "Hot Toddie" (Major LOLs) in his front pouch and carries him around and nurtures him just like a mother kangaroo, but with more obesity and less hopping and they aren't in Australia.
