First off, Viers and stringer werevery impressive. i didn't know which lineman was which but when i checked it, it was them. My dad pointed them out. Viers will start at center and bedore will move. Lamark Brown needs to work on his footwork. Rolo is going to be good. Woods look impressive. Nelson looked solid. Murphy is every bit of that 4.3 speed. Childs and Houlik fly to the ball. i was impressed with Houlik. i didn't know who the nose was, but now i know it was Xavier. Oh man this kid is something. he will be a huge factor. Campbell did his thing, and Moore was kind of lazy. Overall solid practice. Can someone confirm taht Freeman threw that bomb into the trashcan? Someone said Coffman but i thought it was Freeman. Patton is sick. Moran wasnt there. Abana is very athletic and Rob jackson is going to be really solid. overall good practice. It might have looked better if it wasnt so frickin hot out. Alesena had to run for a false start and he was ringing wet. :ksu: :ksu:

Thanks. For sharing. That information.

Nope, it was Coffman. Freeman got close a few times, and never missed by a lot.

Alesana and Cedric Wilson both had to run for false starts - 140 yards total (30 to "far" goal line and back).

thanks for confirming that

If Viers is your starting C, the only thing that will beat Freeman to the hospital, are the headlights of the ambulance he's riding in. A 270 lb C in this league may as well be re-named a RB since he'll spend just as much time in the backfield.

You're dumb.

You think a 270 lb center is a good thing? Maybe in 1980.
-
You think a 270 lb center is a good thing? Maybe in 1980.
per someone Viers is more like 280 now.
Denver Broncose = about 290 per man
Minnesota Golden Gopher lead the nation in rushing Glenn Mason style = 3 interior OL in 280's
Sorry if we can't have man boobs starting everywhere.
It's a pretty simple concept...quickness and toughness beats 330lb lard butt any day of the week.
But come back and show us some more photos of fat Slauson...we're dying to see them.
-
shoot, I know of a center that won the outland and only weighed aropund 280. Ocourse that was 1981 and it was dave rimington.
lol
laughing my arse off at a 270 pound center vs Suh.
I can't wait.

Suh vs Viers-I know who my money is on.

So Suh outweighs him by 20-25lbs...yawn. Not the first time a center outweighed a nose guard. Kalil played at 275 for USC as a Soph on their national title team. he was prolly too small.
Again...quickness, toughness, and technique trumps bulk every day.
Having said that Suh is a guy who looks the part AND plays the part unlike many other Nubbs.

"Again...quickness, toughness, and technique trumps bulk every day."
no it doesn't. do all gay people talk in useless metaphors or just you? Speed isn't going to help a center block a nose tackle. Speed is great if your a d-lineman and you need to get around a bigger, more powerful o-lineman but it doesn't work like that the other way around. the center is not trying to get away from the nose, the center is trying to get in the way of the nose and slow him down. to do that you don't need speed, you need power. And Suh weighs about 310, that isn't 25 pounds heavier, it's 35 and as you can tell, it's a really good 35 pounds.
and by the way, kalil played at 285 and was 6'3 which is a pretty good height to weight ratio. your boy viers is 6'5 according to your website and 270. very big differance. Also, very little experience on the o-line, started off at d-end. Why your trying to compare him to a shorter, heavier better center is beyond me. anything else to add hatter or did you get tore up enough?
-
and here are his 06 stats, or should I say stat?
"Came off the bench to record a solo tackle as a defensive end vs. Florida Atlantic in his only action of the season."
holy f*cking sh*t. we better change our defensive line schemes so that we can double team this bad mofo. I mean jesus christ. coming off a season in which he had 1 tackle, and then moving to a new position on the other side of the ball, tall and skinny, this kid has road grader written all over him. I bet he chews glass and spits out teeth for fun. Somebody better call the folks who do the rmington watch list, this guy will turn heads. After this, I am writing to Suh to let him know what horror awaits him and then cc'ing the email to Cosgrove, he needs to do something to save Suh.

this just in...quickness, toughness, and technique no longer important in football. Just get a big dude who looks good in a phto.
LOL at saying Kalil was 285 as a soph...I remember specifically reading about his being 275 when I was trying to figure out who would win the 2005 Orange Bowl.

I didn't read either of your really long posts. But your username is really weird.
-
you should go read them, your boy mahatter just got owned. hope that was short enough for your brain
-
Yeah I didn't read that one either.
-
shoot, guess hatter doesn't want to post on this thread anymore, guess I cant say I blame him. sometimes the best thing you can do is just tuck tail and run

Saying someone got owned while it was pretty much a :kugayfight: is kinda homoerotic. How much does Tom Nalen weigh?
-
Xavier will blow your noseguard off the field. Guess what, only a 2*!

shocking.

Kalil actually 270 on 2004 Trojans.
See page 19 for depth chart. Once again a husker is denied by facts.

As for Viers..love his quickness, toughness, and athleticism. As for strength and power...he was bench pressing 360 in high school per weightlifting meet rules (no bouncing) and he was cleaning a lot of weight too.
-
Hatter if your roster is so "accurate" as you proclaim on Phog-then Viers is 270. Because unlike ku, K State doesn't exaggerate on heights and weights, right?
-
http://usctrojans.cstv.com/sports/m-footbl/mtt/kalil_ryan00.html
285 according to usctrojans.com. I know I know, not as accurate as your fan page from 2004 which wasn't even his last season but the height and weight listed from his actual last year of play from the teams official site is all i could manage.
lolololo, boy , ripping up this hatter fellows arguments is about the easiest thing to do on the net.
-
Man, K-State is just getting owned in here. Good preparation for the game this fall in Lincoln. Better get used to the feeling now.
:flush: THIRD RATE GAY STATE!!!

285 according to usctrojans.com. I know I know, not as accurate as your fan page from 2004
You are retarded.
I SPECIFICALLY stated Sophomore season. I am not trying to compare Viers to Kalil as a finished product senior. I AM comparing him to a first year starting sophomore and as a Sophomore I specifically stated he was 275 which your dipshlt ass tried to argue...and the fact is he was even lighter than that. I PROVIDED A LINK TO THE FACTS.
Only a retarded person comes back w/ his senior profile link....and? Ummm...what in the hell is that for? Ummm...good for you..I guess?
:chirp:

The article in the KC Star today had him listed at 265. If you're not starting Bedore, your coach should be fired on the spot.

I only see this about Viers in the KC Star today:
The battle is on at center. It sounds, though, like sophomore Trevor Viers may have the inside track. Viers, a converted defensive end, is trying to beat out junior Jordan Bedore. “We said, ‘Hey, if we want to have the center position a real good position for years to come, why not put Trevor Viers there?’ He’s done a great job of learning, been dutiful, tough,” said Prince, adding he hasn’t made a decision on who’ll start.
I didn't see anything about his height or weight... Am I missing something?

You know way too much about K-State. And what the hell are you doing on Phog? Just stop being weird.

What, hold the fricking phone!!! You mean to say that speed won't help a lineman who has to block a d-lineman who is hoping to be faster??? It makes complete sense!!!
-
Two years ago Prince was the speaker at the Kansas 8 man all-star games at Beloit that Viers played in. I had the opportunity to visit with him briefly. At that time Prince was extremely pleased with the progress Viers had made and indicated that he would play early in his career at KSU. Looks like coach made an
accurate assessment.

just watched Tennessee-South Carolina '06 on ESPNU.
Josh McNeil = Tennessee starting center and per their website he be 6-4 280.

Is NU football so &@#%ing boring right now that a couple of mouth breathing corncob tards are resorting to a weight argument about our noseguard? Gawd damn that is sad.

Is NU football so fracking boring right now that a couple of mouth breathing corncob tards are resorting to a weight argument about our noseguard? Gawd damn that is sad.
No, what's sad is the beatdown we're going to put on your undersized and undertalented lines when we play you in Lincoln. Maybe you can talk the NCAA into letting you play 20 or so guys on each side of the ball....then you might be able to get as much talent on the field as Nebraska, and manage to keep the spread within 20.
:flush: Third Rate Lameass State!!!

So you're going to beat us by 20?v :jerkoff:
How many points are you going to beat USC.
Just wondering because my picks list is right here in front of me and I want to get this right. :ku:
-
third rate? Thats their opinion. You could be one. But thats my opinon. If your in the best class, then beat the best. Something Callahan can't do. Beat USC and then you are in there.

OK, I'll only try once to explain this to you because I know you likely won't get it. Speed is useful if the O lineman has to pull or get out into the linebacker to block...quickness is what enables the O lineman to get to the proper side of the D player to block his where he wants, and to get leverage...which is huge in blocking and moving someone. Technique is what the player uses to get off the ball low and enables the O lineman to turn the player once he gets in the proper position.
Oh, and yes, you should probably take two D linemen and double team our O linemen. That'll keep our O-linemen from making the play. Low FBIQ alert!
