Well crap.  Mark this little thread as one that got me off on a tangent for the next 3 hours.

Thanks for that.

But yes, pretty cool that our gals from Kansas are holding there own against the big three....Florida, California and Texas.  Only Clemson and LSU are not from those three states.

This literally shocks me... in 1990 I would've agreed.... that's back when the Classy Cats exercised a minimum of 2 hours a month. The last few seasons I have noticed far too many muffin tops for the 18-22 female demographic. My wife, mother of 3 youngins', has a flatter stomach in her late 30's than many of our beloved 18-22 year old cheer squad gals. Of the 3 squads that rotate at football games... there might be 2 in each squad that in a dark room would blend in with the USC or Oregon squads.

Honestly, if we're going to have cheer gals showing off the belly piercings at games... we need to scrap the PC playbook... and mandate that no muffin tops are allowed. Muffin Top = cut from the squad... from what I hear, there are hundreds of girls that try out each year... perhaps we should let the football team vote for who makes the team, we have to be able to do better than the 2011 roster... there is a lot of talent at KSU... we've all seen it... time for the cheer coach to see it. Cheer squad gals need to earn the scholarship money they get by eating low carb diets and exercise daily... at a minimum. And please... all the PC folks need to stop with all the "hours they commit to cheering" and how "hard it is for them to balance cheer squad with school". Cheering is a choice... if you choose to do it, do it right.

there's probably a difference here between cheerleaders and dance teams, aka classy cats.  but i agree, some of the cc girls are out of shape for the game they play.   emaw.

This is ridiculous. Our cheerleaders do not belong on this list at all. They are horrible. I'm trying to be nice but they struggle with easy routines that High School teams hit. They are also out of shape and as tumblers they are terrible. My wife was a collegiate cheerleader and its laughable at what she can still do and what those girls cant.

I hate KU but their Cheer squad is 100x better than our team. Our team is a high school squad with boys on it.

Our cheerleaders are bad. And they used to be great. Now, they stand in clump and talk. No sense of getting the crowd involved. They need to be spaced out around the stadium about 5 feet apart like mu, ku, arkansas and even fort hays. Iinstead we have fifty cheerleaders in a bunch.

They have lost some of the K-State traditions. They don't stunt with the "Eat em up chant" anymore.  They don't do the twirling diamond heads anymore.  The girls only do the Wabash or fight song routine about half the time the rest of the time they just stand and shake their pom poms.and talk to each other.  BAD!

Way to go guys, rip them to shreds, what the hell do you look like? Any extra weight you are carrying around? At least our cheerleaders know what is going on in the games, and cheer accordingly. I guess if they are not sexy and beautiful, they aren't up to par. Our gals are always cute and spunky and I like them. They and the classy cats work hard give them a break.

Look around. Everyone's cheer squads are better than ours. They need a lot of work and its pathetic that only half of them can do a standing back full.  I mean seriously. If you are pleased with our cheer squad then thats great but if you would rank them they would be the KU of the big 12.

I am very proud that our cheerleaders are ranked, I am not proud when I see "muffin tops" these young ladies work very hard, and they recieve some scholarship assitence, GET IN SHAPE. It is an embarrassment, for those of you that complain that we that complain should look at our selves, you are  nuts. We do not represent the University on a national stage. Girls GET IN SHAPE

How many f*cking times are they going to write this same story?

I realize it's D. Scott and the sappy human interest crap is his deal, but JFC man...  How many damn Colin Klein and LHC Bill Snyder fluff pieces can the dude regurgitate?

Talk about it in Wabash Station
From Garden City to Kansas City and everywhere in between, he trumpeted the photo of 2011 that exemplified family. During his initial news conference prior to the start of the 2012 season, Kansas State head coach LHC Bill Snyder on Tuesday offered a poignant revelation: The photo of family from 2011 was then. This is now.
The photo captured weakside linebacker Tre Walker holding a two-by-four block of wood above his head, "FAMILY" written in black marker. The 2011 squad grew tighter and tighter as games grew closer and closer and the Wildcats emerged with a 10-3 mark for the program's most wins in eight years and a No. 15 final ranking to go along with it.

Years change. As does continuity and dynamics.

Don't. They're all married to flat-bellied former cheerleader milfs.

Speaking of entry songs...
Why don't we include "Home on the Range" in our pre-game ceremony?  We carry the Kansas flag, we're the Big 12 member school in the state that remembers that it IS in the state of Kansas and embraces it, why don't we sing our state song?  It can feel a bit corny at times, but I think 50k linking arms and singing it would be awesome.  Show some state pride!

Personally I like the idea.  I grew up with this song as a boy, and it should continue to be taught in Kansas grade schools.  If you love the state you live in you ought to show it & let others outside the state there's nothing wrong with being a Kansan.  Oklahoma and Texas show their state pride by singing their state songs.  We could and should do the same.

I too love "Home on the Range" and think it would be a great addition. I believe though that the reasoning behind NOT playing it is that we never really have. Playing "Home on the Range" is a huge KU tradition after football games and during pregame. As far as I can tell KSU has never played it, and just leaves it up to KU.

RE: Speaking of entry songs...
If you need a Barbershop Chorus to sing the song (Home on the Range) LIVE, I could possibly get the Tumbleweed Chorus to sing it for a game. We sing a version that is absolutely beautiful. Could even sing the Star Spangled Banner live too.

I used to LOVE being a part of the Mens Glee Club while in school at KSU. And I will never forget singing for Alumni Events and the 40, 50, 60 yr alumni groups would stand and tear up when we'd sing our Fight Song and our Alma Mater.

I LOVE K-STATE! GO CATS! EMAW!

Of course the non-Native Kansans will be mocking the thread.

They only mock what they don't understand. (i.e. they are ignorant!)

That would be perfect for the KU game, but the song itself should become more of a tradition at all home games IMO.  It doesn't necessarily have to be the entry song.  Before the Star Spangled Banner or during halftime.

Kansas turned 150 last year.  Natives should be proud of our heritage:
