Keep in mind Dom couldn't shoot but could rebound, pass, and play pretty damn good defense.  He was also extremely athletic which this teams needs.  Oh....and could make 2 foot shots from underneath the basket.

He could also execute a fast break for a high fly dunk.  But that is beside the point.

Dom could also shoot in the 60% range in FT's.

Yeah, we miss Dom more than I anticipated.  Amazing how much he, Clemente, Lou, and even Meri meant to this team.

I may need to go to that NCAA website and watch last year's Xavier game. :frown:

Loved being able to put Dom out front on the zone.  He could force a few turnovers and create fast break buckets.  Definitely something the team is missing this year.

I think Dom could have helped the cats win last night.  He would have stopped the penitration they were getting in the second half and maybe put him on Konudson so he couldn't Voskill us.  We need some defensive intensity.  We do o.k. on defense it just is not as intense as last year, there seems to be a lot more easy baskets this year for the other team.

Accepting that we needed to run Dom off for being a FP TC ETC. has become harder and harder to justify in my mind.

Despite his shortcomings, Dom was a tonesetter.  He set the tone for the defense, for the transition game, and for the JYC attitude.  That's what we miss about him.  He was the lead "Doberman" (amirite Mitch?).

As much as I railed (and was frustrated by) Dom at times last year . . . we miss him badly, and anyone who say's we don't is just full on Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!).

Don't give me "he couldn't cover Freddette" or any of that bull cac.

last night's game might have been won w/ Dom  :ck:  last night we could have used Dom at the 4 when we went small which would have been very nice.  so the last 11 minutes we have Dom in there giving us a lineup of Dom, Samuels, Pullen, McGruder + ? <- should have been 95!

does Dom accept a reduced role at the 3 w/ McGruder's ascension?  or does McGruder get more time at the 2 (doubtful).

We need Dominique's offense.

Does he still exist?

Does anyone think CU could've spread us out and let Burks drive to the rim for 3 or 4 shots in the last 6 or 7 minutes with Dom guarding him?

We need Dominique's offense.

And this.  He was very good at finishing after an offensive rebound.

Missing Clemente is one thing, but we miss Dom far more than I anticipated.

does anyone know the real reason he left? Being lazy and Frank didn't want to put up with it? Frank didn't think we'd need him? smoking too much weed?

Probably a mix, maybe everything you mentioned.

We miss his defense and the fast break points, but try to picture a lineup of Irving, Sprads, Dom, VO, and JO trying to score in a half court set without vomiting in terror.

Can't believe that this line up would ever be in the game at the same time unless others on the team had fouled out.
