WTF is up with Bob Costas' eyes?

He had pink eye which is why people filled in for him for like a week.

I kinda feel bad for them.  It's like the one thing that really matters to them.

Damn. USA jumping all over the Czechs early. I'd love to see USA make the medal round with Russia and Canada both eliminated.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, K-State fans could have beheaded the entire KU team at midcourt, and K-State fans would be celebrating it this morning.  They are the ISIS of Big 12 fanbases.

Canada is more talented but they are having chemistry issues. USA and Sweden are playing the best hockey right now.

well if you want USA to win gold :flush: you better stop watching that game and turn to the Canada v. Latvia game on msnbc, Latvia is 20 minutes away from pulling the biggest upset in the history of Olympic hockey.

for those of you unfamiliar with Latvia, this is the equivalent of Maine being in the Olympics and being tied with Canada after 50 minutes of hockey

so you took a Giant Country vs a Small Country, and changed them up in your analogy to:
the exact same Giant Country vs a Small State?

"latvia = maine" would be more efficient.

I think US hockey just might get the gold this year, guys.

What in gods name would lead you to believe that?

yes, population and current NHL experience of Maine and Latvia are similar. Actually the better example of number of NHLers the better example would be Alabama.

 :dunno:

1. They were not the gold medal favorites
2. They haven't won crap yet; Canada, Finland, and Sweden are better than anyone they have played.
