If this thing were any more pud the NWS would've named it Winter Storm ERII.
I like how @nwstopeka probably got a crap ton of crap and the only way they can fire back is to reiterate that travel conditions will still be less than ideal and then exclamation mark their proclamation.
US National Weather Service Topeka Kansas2 mins ·It's been quite a storm to forecast...that's for sure! While roads were plenty slick and ice caused power outages in east central KS, in the end we'll end up with a "BEST CASE SCENARIO" of sorts. This is good news as most of the weather models were forecasting more than a foot of snow for parts of the area (some as much as 18"!). Even while we at the NWS were forecasting much lower than those models, a shift in the storm track and more dry air in the upper levels really ate up the snow totals. It's interesting how such small details can make such a huge difference...especially with snow!
