This is TOTALLY a rumor guys, so I can't be quoted and I am just passing it on but a friend of a friend of his has said that Sheown has kicked around the idea of converting the jayhawk to a Power-jhawk type emblem.  Take it for what it's worth.

Maybe someone can shoot me a rendering of what such a thing would look like, so I can check it with my sources.

I will admit, AD Currie has done a very good job for KSU, but as mentioned Zenger was #1 on the list for the KSU gig.

From the start, many of us have wanted Zenger. Sure we knew he was the original #1 guy for KSU during their search, but much for the same reason he was that for KSU, he fit for KU. He is a great fit for any University in the State of Kansas to be honest.

I have known Sheahon for about 25 years and I do not think KU is his dream job, but Sheahon is smart and knows what is the correct thing to say to win friends and influence people. I can see from a professional viewpoint why he would take this job, but I am a bit surprised by it from a personal viewpoint. Sheahon was (and I am pretty sure still is) a proud K-Stater.

I have known Sheahon for about 31 years and I know for a fact he hates the crap out of KU.  He also likes the crap out of K-State.  He told me he is going to completely destroy them (even moreso than they've already been destroyed) from the inside.

There was/is a general sense that his experience level is a question mark, having only worked in a D-1 FB AthDept for a few years while at K-State. His relationship with Wefald, Krause and Epps also was an issue, as he has been quoted as saying those three (along with BSnyder) are among his professional mentors and role models. And there was a definite movement to hire a person that did not have any pre-existing loyalties or connections that could come in unbiased and clean crap up. This was going to be a big job, and a relatively inexperienced administrator with ties to the crew that screwed things up to begin with was not an ideal "fit".
