Carson has to be unbelievably happy that he's not forced to play football anymore.
It leaves Coffman to say, "It's not the career I would have picked out for myself, but I'm sure there will be a time when I look back and understand why it went like this."
No Carson, you won't. You'll continue to look back and wonder how mediocrity like you was able to start so many major conference football games.
Carson's career statistical rankings are evidence of 2 things:
1 - How many really bad football teams we had.
2 - How statistics should never be the sole factor in evaluating a player.
