I don't like the idea of gift cards. Cash is a much better gift for somebody who is hard to buy for.

Gift cards are nice.  Always like receiving them.

Go to Dillons and load up on gift cards, and get fuel points.

Gift cards are great if they are specific to the person getting them. Best Buy? Wal-Mart? Just give cash, it's just as personal. But if there's a restaurant that someone really enjoys eating at and you know it's one of their favorites, then you have my blessing.
