My lord. He hasn't been worth a damn since the Zags game.

Today: 2 pts. 2 TO, 1 Ast.

When your opponent can put their relatively slow-footed 6'9" 3/4 man on your starting PG, and your starting PG is still no threat to penetrate or create anything off the dribble, that's a pretty big handicap for your offense

since russell seems to want to shove his head as far up his ass as possible with every passing game, we're pretty much f'd at the other guard spot.  which in turn means our offense is f'd.  there shouldn't be a lineup on the floor that doesn't have either curt or jake in it.  irving is not the answer.  there isn't one.

I f'ing hate asprilla.  asprilla should put a wig on and play for deb.  he's already got the p*ssy for it.  i think 'tay is okay at the 2-combo, he's just not good at the 1-combo which is the spot we need.  we get nothing in transition.

I think it's pretty obvious that Denis took our transition game with him.

I'm going to beat this drum for Irving until I'm heard.  People seem to think that Spradling is some sort of facilitator, when really he's just a ball mover.  Tay has 5 less assists, when he's played one less game and he still has far and away the lowest TO rate on the team, he only has 5 TOs on the season.  There is literally nothing positive that anyone can claim that Will does better.  I don't hate Will, but he shouldn't be seeing any more than 10 MPG right now.

Totally on the Irving>Spradling bandwagon. Kenpom before today's game:

                eFG%        3pt%       TOrate        ORtg

Sprads:    43.6%       26.1%      22.2%       109.8

Tay:        58.7%       47.6%       10.7%       123.1
                                            (7th in B12)(7th in B12)

Assists and 2pt% are nearly identical. The only stat in which Spads is better is, obviously, FT's. But WGAF?

Pretty tough to claim considering we were down 18 at one point in the 2nd half

agreed about asprilla.  also agreed about irving.  if i was the head coach my starting lineup would be: jake, irving, mcgruder, samuels, and kelly.  asprilla and judge (if available) would be my reserve bigs and spradling would see limited time at the 1.  russell and southwell would split the reserve time at the 2/3.  VO would have martyred himself for the team  so that he wouldnt even be a factor, and JHR would be the "oh crap we are in serious foul trouble" player.

also the idea that this team is "deep" has to be a joke at this point right?

This is about what I expected from Sprads (not what we saw up to the Zags game).

Now tell Frank this please.  He seems to think Gonzaga was the norm and not the exception.

Thanks

this is still way better than i expected from sprads.  6'3" white freshman pg starting for a supposed top 5 team?  gmafb.  shows you how much pullen truly sucks at pg.

He is what we thought he was. Seriously, a white frosh kid from shawnee comes in and starts for supposed top five team, what could that possibly mean but glaring weaknesses? Thing is, Doc is fine. He's just being the player we knew he was. The reason, above all, we went from elite team to embarrassment thus far is because of our crap front court that went from strength to completely non-existent.

Good call.

While I didn't expect Sprads would continue to shoot 50% from 3 for the year, I also didn't think he'd miss his next 13 3PT attempts and fall to 24%.  Otherwise, he's playing as expected.
