Wasn't Tyree more of an elfish PG type?

listed as 6'0".  torian is listed as 6'4".  i don't think he has legit pg skills, at this point in time.

Ran across the following scouting on Stephon Blair from ESPN. We were mentioned in connection with him last fall but I hadnt' seen much since. Update is from an Adidas showcase in Florida, might be some other names in the article who are targets/potential targets for us.

Stephon Blair (Fort Lauderdale, Fla./Dillard)
2012, PF, 6-8, 215 pounds
Team: Florida Rams
The high-energy inside post plays with intensity. Presently, Blair's most comfortable move with his back to the basket is his jump hook over his left shoulder as well as a drop step to the baseline. When he commits himself to using his frame and sealing his defender, he can receive post feeds and score at a good percentage. He finishes drop-off passes with a dunk and really hits the offensive boards. On defense, Blair blocks shots with his athletic ability but he must remember to be patient and leave his feet only after the offensive player has shot the ball. Playing with emotion is part of what makes him good, but he must learn not to be emotional.

Scouting report on Blair from ESPN last December

• Dillard (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) coach Darryl Burrows has had many big-time players over the years and has another potential high major prospect under his wing in 6-9 sophomore center Stephon Blair. This young post is extra long and very mobile. He can rebound on both ends and has a great motor that allows him to run the floor on a consistent basis. Blair is raw on the offensive end -- although his left shoulder jump hook is pretty good. He patrols the lane like upperclassmen where he blocks shots and makes penetrators think twice about challenging him at the rim.

uab has crazy bad "luck" with recruits.

this in the the 2012 thread for his brother.

the point is that there's this colombian guy named perea who's an elite 2012 and kstate isn't even being mentioned with him, even though he lists several other big 12 schools.

meek should blog about that!

Isaiah Austin

http://cjonline.com/interact/blog/austin_meek/2010-05-24/ray_forsett

Quote from:  Austin Meek
Always good to catch up with Team Texas coach Ray Forsett, who was in town this weekend for the Kansas City Classic.

.......

Forsett also coaches center Isaiah Austin, one of the top players in the 2012 class. Didn't get to see Austin this weekend -- he was in Las Vegas for the Adidas Nations camp -- but Big 12 hoops fans should get used to hearing his name.

"He's a 7-foot skill kid, 3.7 grade-point average," Forsett said. "Wants to get better, wants to be the best. Doesn't let the rankings get to his head. He just wants to be the best kid he can be."

Austin's list, according to Forsett: "Kansas, K-State, Baylor and the University of Houston."

Also checked in on K-State's Nick Russell, who played for Forsett at Grace Prep. With Denis Clemente gone, Russell will be one of several young players vying for minutes next year in the backcourt.

"He's doing good," Forsett said. "He's working hard. He's going to learn from the bumps and bruises as a freshman and be ready to step in and help them as much he can next year. The opportunity will be there. He's just got to take it."

Jordan Goodman opens it up. Props to michigancat for calling this when David Cox moved from G'town to Rutgers. Update gives the impression that Rutgers might be in the driver's seat due to Cox's presence there now. Scout still has him listed in the Class of '11(#86 in their Top 100) but update does mention possibility he will reclassify to '12.

I'm somewhat conflicted about Cauley.

On the one hand i'm all  and have a strong desire to land him due to his homegrown nature and upsidery potentials.

On the other hand everyone i have spoke with says that he is offensively deficient, regardless the level of competition, and generally unimpressed with his effort and production vs. marginal hs opposition.

(however this notion may simply be my inner emaw trying to protect me emotionally when he zac's us and becomes a poke)

Meek does a great job. Has filled the gap - since the departure of JMart. He "gets" K-Staters.

Careful.  He's been trying lately.  Nothing has been earthshattering, but lets not scare him back into his recruiting hole.

tracking down 2-month-old public info isn't "trying" IMO.

he had quotes.  direct quotes on earlier unquoted info is fine.  good job, austin.

cauley sounds very intelligent.  osu's offense is perfect for him, since he acknowledges that he has no post moves, and osu doesn't give the ball to bigs.

Yeah, post moves shouldn't be needed since he's concentrating on his ballhandling and outside shot this summer.

And of course OSU's offense looked nice, they had the best player in the league.

Torian Graham, SG- A class of 2012 scorer who is athletic off of the bounce, the 6-foot-4 product of Upper Marlboro (Md.) Hillside enjoyed a fine ending to a good weekend. The windup on his jumper is a bit unorthodox, but he can knock them down from deep and it sets up what he can do off the bounce. He's a potential four-star talent.
