Yea, the high school I teach at has a pretty solid bball team and they got routed by Beaver Falls.  About a month ago the BF team got in trouble because several players were involved in a fight where a couple kids got stabbed.  Never heard Jeter mentioned though. Beaver Falls, I went to college there, is... the... ghe-e-tto.  :emawkid:

I don't know how the hell you came up with that trey, but that was 1 solid find, hur hur hur... At least we're big time now :gocho:

"Add another big-time Division I team to the list of schools that have offered a scholarship to Beaver Falls basketball standout Sheldon Jeter.

Kansas State offered Jeter today, according to Beaver Falls coach Doug Biega. Wisconsin, South Carolina and some others have offered Jeter (pictured). As for Pitt, the Panthers have been showing interest for the past month or so - but no offer."

before you showed up and started owning all of the recruiting updates, i used to do my best UW impersonation.

Now that's some gritty inside scoop right there Zmoney

In addition to the schools mentioned above, Jeter also has offers from Penn St, Seton Hall, and Northeastern.

Complete biographical data can be found at PennStateHoops.com  :surprised:

Pffft, "owning" is a very relative term, the "Official How Are Recruits Doing" Thread was inspired work on your part.

Maybe if you quit bitching about what other people were doing, you might accidentally contribute something sometime.

Well, its clear that we are going hard after a wing this spring. If we sign a decent high schooler (I'd take Walker or Sheldon-Jeter) I can live with it.

Talked to a couple of our coaches out here today.  They thought Jeter was a legit D-1 kid, but needed work obviously.  His size, 6-7, might be his biggest advantage at the high school level right now, but Herb Pope was better.  Got interrupted and didn't get to finish the conversation though.

there are 345 d1 teams, all with 13 scholarship players.  did the dumbass hs coaches you talked to mean that he was a legit high-major recruit?

That's my bad, I wrote that last post in a rush.  They meant that he was worthy of a BCS school offer.  I haven't seen the kid play, I was out of town the week we played BF.  There is a chance we might play them again in the playoffs.  The other guy I was going to touch base with is the old "local legend" guy, who is a teacher now. Was an amazing high school baller back in the day, played college hoops at Duquesne and was pretty successful there. He know his hoops and stays up to date on the area hoops.  I've always found his insight pretty good.  Will talk to him Monday.

Everyone looks good finishing at the rim in high school. And they all look a lot worse finishing at the rim against Big 12 defenders.

I've seen Big Rob 11 times this season. He does not have great post moves. He's HUGE. He doesn't post up well at all and he puts the ball on the floor and gets picked a lot. Big Rob does the one thing that many big men do who don't get that extra camp time as kids and teens: He brings the ball down to waist level and get tied up. However Big Rob DOES DUNK LIKE A MOFO

Lastly, his conditioning is a giant question mark as he doesn't run the floor well as he huffs and puffs quite a bit after a few minutes on the floor. I just hope he's got the stomach to deal with Frank.

however good you think upshaw is, back way off that mark.  if he were actually 7'1", 250 and ready to contribute as an average to above average big 12 starter, people would be talking about him as one and done.  no one is, therefore he's not ready.

Well said sys.
