Completely unofficial and unauthorized KSU Cat priority list for '12:

1. Cauley
1st recruit KSU offered in this class and KSU was 1st offer he received. Potential defensive stud(I'm hoping Jarvis Varnado type) who if he realizes his potential will be in the NBA in a few years. Hoping the KSU/Mokan friendliness pays off here.

2. Moose
The opportunity exists for some intrepid beat writer out there to be a hero and break the Moose to KSU commitment story and introduce him to the KSU Cat nation, 99% of whom probably haven't even heard of him before. Or just squash the rumor and let recruiting dorks like me know what the hell is going on with him.

2a. Macon
Fairly new name on the radar but apparently a lot of mutual interest here based on his pending visit. Bouncy, skilled, tough 4 man, Scout dudes swear up and down Pitt and W. Va will be tough to beat here, we'll just have to see.

2b. Upshaw
True 5 man who is actually pretty skilled. KSU Cats really haven't ventured out west much on the 'cruiting trail, would love to land him but a lot of other top programs are after him too. Has stated several times he won't decide until Spring.

5. Demetrius Henry
Not a ton of info out there on this athletic 4 man from the Orlando area. Rankin tweeted we offered him about 1 mo ago, more than likely a conditional offer, wait and see here I think.

6. AJPC
He may be #6 on th UWCUUPL, but he's  #6 with a bullet. If he can light up the prep school scene at Monteverde(FL) this year, he's probably ours to lose.

7. Nick Wiggins
Yes, he's our token Canadian JC kid but if landing him means we have a shot at little bro, who also happens to attend Huntington Prep along w/Macon, then I'm on board.

Must have put us in his top 5 by accident  last month.

Also, he was in love with Okie State at that time too. Things Change.

i'm very happy with mir's post defending ks hs bball & lolling @ the dumbass kansans that hate it.  also happy with the random "yes, you are right, moose to kstate." comment.

randoms - judge was exclusively a one-footed jumper, and clumsy.  not a good athlete.  and i think i remember something about the new isu guy have some qualification issues.  not sure i'm recalling accurately though.  anyways, good job, thread.
Ok. Just was rereading parts of this thread and saw this blatant attack on my comment.  No, can you honestly tell yourself that KS HS bball matches up well with Illinois, Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisianna, California, Nevada, Texas, New Jersey, Ohio, Washington(perhaps the closest to KS bball of those so far mentioned) HS bball?  If so, then no matter how much I respect your opinion on alot of things, you are either clueless as to how good HS bball is in these regions or you are in denial.

KS HS bball is a tale of the "haves" and the "have-nots" as evidenced by MIR's rebuttal to my original post.  The third best player in the City League transferred to Heights for a number of reasons but that move makes City League basketball even more irrelevant.  I'm too lazy to go scour City League rosters, but, I'd bet that besides Frankamp and Ellis the number of D-1A major college program level players is a big fat zero.  Thurman, even, is projected as an MVC level player.  This is the league that covers the largest city in the state and there are 2 legit high major talents with probably one legit mid major talent and a bunch more lesser talented Friends level players.  I know the majority of us are from KS and an even higher percentage have some connection to Wichita, but to pretend that it is some high-level competitive HS league when the same team has won state three years in a row with practically zero losses is Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!).

Seth Davis is a damn fool.  The KU banner is a paid advertisement is all city league gyms.

are you sure that's why he tweeted that?

Dunno wasn't on twitter when I made the post.  I got that from reading this thread.  I can tell you that at the time of the tweet Perry was in a room here at Heights.  So if Davis wasn't guessing someone from one of the schools told him.  Huge dick move to tweet that when he did, absolutely a breach of protocol.

Pfft. Journalists regularly scoop official announcements before they're made. If anyone breached protocol, it's whoever told Seth Davis.

Man shut the eff up you have no rough ridin' clue as to what you are talking about.  Seth Davis wasn't the only person who knew, but he was the only douche who decided to open his mouth.  Shouldn't have been a surprise, not the first douchy thing he has done and won't be the last.

I saw at least 4 different sites reporting it 10 minutes before the announcement was made.

What sites, all I've heard was Davis.

2 KU blogs and a UK blog.

Granted, blogs, I know.  But the info was out there.

In case you missed it, he's off the board. You're free to make your own unauthorized and unoffiicial list and place him wherever you want.

Hell, you can make your own list including all the players we've missed on/passed on in this class including the likes of Smart and Smith-Rivera. Would be awesome ... if you're into dwelling on what's already over and done with.

I just listened to the "GoPowercat.com Podcast" where the boys were talking about having driven past Word of Life here in Wichita and how crazy it was that AJPC would be playing at that shithole.  I thought I'd heard otherwise too, but they seemed pretty confident.

If they're so confident about it, they should at least go in and correct his Rivals profile

I would also like to add that MIR's assertion that Evan Wessell played the four position only reinforces my point that KS HS bball is not on the level of other states. If Heights was so highly competitive with other states, they would not rely on a 6 ft 4 inch shooting guard/small forward to play the post and that person would also not be able to play that position effectively(and don't give me the Dom comparo because Dom was forty times the athlete that Evan is and Evan is 10 times the shooter Dom ever was).  If you equate Evan Wessel with David Hoskins than you are calling Gregg Marshall a liar and doing both David and Evan a disservice.
