Forte had 20 in the TX Assault's title game win at the Adidas 64. I only got to see the 2nd half, he knocked down a couple of deep treys but also had a couple tough drives and finishes within 5 ft of the rim. He's a sub 6 fter but very solid and tough player. Do we offer him without the close connection to Smart? Dunno, I guess you play every angle you can in the recruiting game, couple other descriptions below:
"Phil Forte 5'11" 180 - (2012 - Texas Assault) - We loved Forte's demeanor withstanding spirited opposing crowd harassment and physical opposing ball pressure to consistently bring the ball up the floor and make the right decision. Once he ignited the offense Forte instantly became a scoring threat hitting five three pointers and scoring a game high 19 points against DFW."
http://kansasstate.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1244225"Phil Forte, PG, Texas Assault – A very strong point guard, Forte had some good things going for him. Not a great athlete or super quick, Forte displayed an excellent ability to knock down shots, and then also made a few nice passes. There is no doubting his toughness, and while he has his limitations, Forte was very productive."
