no.  they'll run off the 2011 jucos and take 3.  cauley is an important recruit, but i don't think he's #1 on the staff's list (he certainly isn't the fans' favorite, but ku & kstate fans are dumbasses that always hate and undervalue local recruits)

cassidy updates roberson.

Quote
During a recent phone conversation with Kansas State assistant Matt Figger, Roberson was informed that the Wildcat coaching staff intends to pop up at a pair of his AAU tournaments this summer in an effort to get an up-close look.

Roberson said he expects those encounters to take place in the coming weeks when his AAU team makes stops in Florida and West Virginia. Apparently, the process of earning a scholarship offer from Frank Martin's Wildcats begins in the South.

"(Figger) seemed really interested," Roberson, who expressed interest in visiting Manhattan at a yet-to-be-determined time said. "They're going to come down and see me play. We'll go from there, I guess. He just called to tell me that he heard about me and expects me to be a great player.

"Kansas State seems really interested right now, but we'll have to see about an offer."

To be fair, if he's 6-10 and can't average 30 and 15 in the Sunflower league, he's garbage.

"My top five [is] UCLA, Texas, . . . Louisville, Georgetown, and Xavier," Smith-Rivera said, adding that has visited each of those schools and also holds an offer from all of them.

Asked if that is his final five, DSR replied, "As of right now, yeah. There have been other schools that have been [in] contact recently, so when I get a chance to see them that may change, I don't know."

Smith-Rivera said that the schools recently getting involved with him are Michigan State, Kentucky and Kansas State. He said that MSU and KSU got involved "right after my high school season," and added that KSU is the only one of the three to offer. As for UK, Smith-Rivera said the interest has been "on and off since freshman year."

DSR said he would have to visit those schools in order to consider them. The only places his has visited besides the first five schools mentioned are Wake Forest and Ohio State.

Good to hear we're still sorta in the hunt for DSR.

For anybody with a Rivals subscription, linked below is a thread from the nat'l board that provides a pretty good discussion about his game and several other of the Top PG's in the Class of '12.

From what I've seen, he's not the best distributor, unless he's distributing punches.

Haven't seen KSU mentioned on this kid's list in a long time, 1 of many on his list for now, guess we'll see if our interest picks up at all. IU rivals dude who saw him play about 1 mo ago compared him to Jeremy Lamb :horrorsurprise:

"Sherron Dorsey-Walker is a 6'4 shooting guard out of Pershing (MI) who said he usually runs with the R.E.A.C.H. Legends, but went with the Michigan Hurricanes to the Bob Gibbons TOC. A talented player who can slide over to the one if needed, the class of 2012 standout already claims double-digit scholarship offers.

Dorsey-Walker listed offers from Michigan, Baylor, Florida State, Indiana, Dayton, Iowa State, Central Michigan, Western Michigan, Eastern Michigan, Oakland, and Minnesota. In addition, he said that he is hearing from Tennessee, USC, Kansas State, Xavier, and Michigan State."

http://blog.northstarbball.com/2011/06/08/dorsey-walker--b-harris-discuss-recruitment.aspx

He suddenly has renewed interest in Michigan now too, Darius Morris went pro early and apparently we told SDW that he can come in and play the point in his absence..

Which is odd because we just offered 2 PG's in the 2013 class who are nearing decisions, and were only taking 1.. Plus if Zak Irvin commits to us soon (and this rumor really picking up steam) we'll be out of schollies until 2014 assuming nobody decommits..

That was a really long way  of me saying that SDW just popped back up on our radar too, and under puzzling circumstances.. Not that any of you give a crap about anything I just said anyway..

just some worthless information...willie cauley is playing football this year.  apparently he's been unstoppable at wr.  bball coaches are pissed.  fball coach doesn't give a crap, wants to figure out how to use willie as much as possible (i see a jump ball offense in their future).  willie doesn't particularly like to play bball...it's his 3rd favorite sport.  if he can somehow play his way into a d1 fball scholly, he will jump at it.  just what i'm hearing, thought i would share, probably all lies and bullshit
