I heard he (ellis) is a soft commit to ksu and cauley is a strong verbal to ksu...that's coming from kids I coach that go to hs with cauley

also has a visit to kentucky scheduled.  in november, i think.

and ou on the 11th (big weekend for them).  not sure if you could call those 5 his favorites, but along with unc, they've probably been his most mentioned.  and now the visit schedule.

consensus 2012 list.  9, 21, 44, 47.

saw somewhere that lawrence expects, or was promised, or something, a 'ship in 2012.  don't know if that means more that he's definitely in the class, or if he's a safety valve.

there should have been a link in that post, which would have made the numbers self-explanatory.  i was in hurry, sorry.

Jacksonville ACD no longer a member of Florida HS Activities Association. Will be interesting to see if they develop into a nationally known prep school such as Oak Hill, Findlay, Brewster, etc.

Smith will take a visit to Kansas State on September 18th and then make the rounds before making a decision.

article says fsu leads, and talks about his unofficial there over the weekend.  i thought he was at ol' miss.  not sure if i had the school wrong, or if he visited ol' miss the previous weekend.

Interesting time for a visit, FB game will be in KC that weekend, but hey I'm not complaining, just glad to get him into town at a relatively early date like that.

Article goes on to say Smith does not plan on making a final decision in the real near future, will possibly be at beginning of his SR yr.

unranked, presumably hard-working, combo forward w. kstate interest.

Martin has to be salivating over this guy, hope we can convince him he's the perfect "fit":

"Who is the toughest - maybe not the best, but the most hard-nosed player - you saw in person this summer?

Meyer: Class of 2012 prospect Marcus Smart was the toughest prospect I saw this summer. He immediately reminded me of Paul Harris who played at Syracuse. Harris might be the toughest prospect I've ever scouted. Smart is a physically imposing, do-everything guard who absolutely loves contact and thrives on competitive confrontation.

Bossi: This is a really easy answer for me, 2012 wing Marcus Smart from Texas. He's as tough a player as I've ever seen on the high school level. He fights for rebounds, is an intense defender and has a knack for going and making plays when his team needs them the most. As far as I'm concerned, he's the gold standard for toughness in high school basketball.

smart + frank = scary for the rest of the big 12. Smart is a beast and most likely a 3-4 year player.  I think he could be a corner stone for a program.

So.....

Is this just an opinion from a Sooner fan, or is there more to it than that?
