i didn't realize young was transferring.  it'd be great to see kstate involved if/when he reclassifies.

Absolutely, that would be very a good development for KSU recruiting.

Meyer on Graham, not much but it's something:

"Mainly a matter of seeing more of him and getting a better feel for how good this guy could be one day. High level athlete with lots of potential. Haven't heard the latest on his recruitment."

I WANT perry.

would rather have Cauley

IIRC, Cauley is living with Will Shields family.  BITB mentioned that on his show the other day.

I thought it was odd that someone was asking if we would ever close the deal on a top 30 kid when we had done it in the 2009 class.  And the 2007 class.  Was Bennett top-30?  Cause he wouldmake it 3 out of 5 classes in which we had closed the deal on a top-30 kid.  :dunno:  I get that's always "what have you done lately," but that phrasing seemed a bit odd to me.

Judge's RSCI was 15. Bennett's was 44.

No Huggins layoff/Cincy connection, no Walker
No D. Hill package deal, no Beasley
No D. Hill DCA connection(which is painfully and obviously slipping away), no Judge. It would be FANTASTIC to have Graham revive that pipeline, I have my doubts, I hope Dalonte proves my ass wrong.

We can't work the package deal anymore, it's illegal. Without that no longer available resource, this staff has not landed 1 upper echelon 4 star(Rivals Top 75). Why is the Top 75 barrier important? Since 2005(as far back as the database will let you look at the recruits) every national title winner has had at least 4 players on their roster ranked in the Top 75. You're welcome to conduct a more exhaustive study on all the Final 4 teams during the same time frame. My money says the only 2 teams that don't fit that criteria are Butler and George Mason.

Not every individual player lives up to his particular ranking, but when you gather a collective pool of highly touted talent, the odds are good the majority of those players will produce, which in turn increases the odds your program will be highly successful on a consistent basis.

No arguing that you need talented players to win a NC.  I just think it's a bit odd to simply shrug off every high end recruit we have signed as being the product of x,y, or z.  Every recruit will be the product of some sort of connections formed, at every school.  I like the fact that we aren't so reliant on the DCA pipeline.  You can't rely on a small percentage of the country to recruit from.  The fact that we are bringing kids from all over the country/world is indicative of our growing recruiting presence.  I don't know what Frank's deal is but he seems to not recruit those top 50 kids all that aggressively.  Having a top 10-15 class would be awful nice though.

bringing in borderline top 100-150s from all over the country is indicative of getting shut out on dca top 50s.

Never said I didn't like the DCA pipeline, just that it's nice to also have ties to other talent beds.  If we were able to sign every DCA kid we wanted, that would be fine but that's not going to happen.
