I think the Big 12 would look for schools that can be competitive in more than just one sport. The Zags have a great basketball team, but the absence of a football team would affect their running for a Big 12 spot imo.

TCU, Boise St, BYU, Notre Dame would be awesome candidates..

Boise St? Their program doesnt even compare to the zags. How many E8's have the bronco's made it too? S16's? The big beast seems to do alright with basetball only schools.

Also, ND is both laughing at you and shamed that they were mentioned as an option to join the Big 12.

does boise st even have a basketball team?  i think at this point not having a basketball team is more of detriment than not having a football team.  ksu and ku are allowed in the big 12.  why exclude the zags?

Although I am a BB fan, as far as the members of the Conf are concerned, FB=$.  $=better conf. 

Whoever may enter the Big 12, they will either have a solid FB team, or have made some sort of a commitment to getting their FB team upgraded.

 Boise's basketball team would finish dead last in the Big 12, no doubt about it. They probably would not win a game. However, their football team would compete with the Big 12 powers.

Same with TCU. You think the networks would pay money to air TCU-TX/OU/OSU football games? I think so
