There's no reason to keep my AA card if I'll be getting the BA card, is there?

After following advice in this thread for 3 months, I have gone from about 8k in various points programs to to about 265K. Not a penny spent on interest either
alright, i'm gonna have to get in on all this.want to take trips with the gf and stuff, just not sure where to start.my dad, a financial advisor, would not approve, to say the least.

I'm pretty new to this, what's to stop me from just taking the 50k miles for signing up, using the card one time and then cancelling?
