You're right about the Sapphire personals; it's probably in this thread 3 years ago where I timed out canceling my CSP and going a month with nothing before getting a CSR.

It wouldn't necessarily be a problem for me to cancel my existing Ink, but I didn't want to do that and then be unable to get a new one of that type with the 5x on some biz-related stuff and 2x fuel. If it's thought messing with the Inks is flying too close to the sun, I'd just have Chase convert my existing one to the no-fee version with those same categories and look for non-biz cards to get for these purchases.

One option for the $8K-ish purchase from Lowe's is to get a 5% discount on that purchase by getting and using a Lowe's credit card, but I feel we can do a lot better than that.

I'll give it a shot as it's the only truly great thing I could use for this and beyond. Worst case, I get my current Ink card converted to the no-fee type and I'll still have at least one more shot for a 5/24 Chase even if they count the attempt as 1/24.

I'll probably be getting a big check to be paying for all these things first, so I could open up a Chase bank account (maybe even a biz one!) with it first for however that might help.

What are the non-Chase version of awesome transferable UR's that would be good to get into if I needed to? Citi T-Y points look useless to me.

I've become lazier with CC game. I just flip between Freedom and Biz Ink depending on the quarterly rebate on the Freedom.

I need to churn something and get a fresh bonus bump.

INK for actual using the card. If you want a companion pass the SW is better for sign up. Why not both?

I have SW as daily spender and got a companion pass (that haven't got to use). New small biz will basically be used to write off stuff as I build and buy stuff on land I bought.

Holy cow, this may be the lowest this thread has ever been.

I am very terrible and getting value for my points, and while I do care, I hate putting much effort into it and usually take the easiest path. However, I may be taking a lot of points type trip and am willing to do a bit of work if its worth it. I've never used Chase URs to book American before and I understand that I can transfer the URs to BA/Avios to book. That doesn't seem too hard, but I don't have a BA account, but that doesn't seem too hard either. So my question. How much better is getting a BA/Avios account, then transferring URs to that account, and then booking through BA is it than just booking my trip on the Chase portal? I'm sure it varies, but does Chase really screw you and its worth it by a lot to open a British Airways/Avios account?

it just depends. sometimes chase is cheaper, sometimes using miles is. check the price both ways before transferring.

okay, question about the AMEX Bonvoy Brilliant card. Wife and I both have Bonvoy Amex and Bonvoy Boundless (all bonuses would have been received over two years ago.) The Brilliant has a nice little 125k point bonus though, so wanted to take advantage. It says I can upgrade cards, but it looks like the point bonus isn't available with the upgrade. So, cancelling and applying looks like the way to go. With amex, when I cancel, how long do I have to wait to apply to ensure that I get the bonus?

Wife got sent for review on a business (United 75k) card offer for the first time. Never remember what I put for “revenue” and monthly expense for the fictitious business without being ridiculous. They must not have liked it this time. Definitely under 5/24.

What do you all use for revenue/expense for a fake business?

Aside from flipping SW cards to get the companion pass I haven't really looked at cards much recently. I just got out of the 4 year and got the CSP and I also have the Ink which i'll prob cancel now that I have the CSP again. Anywho, am I wrong in that the CSP isn't that great of a card anymore with all of the added benefits to the Freedom Unlimited? The FU gets 3% dining vs 2% so for me I think the only benefit of the CSP is transferring points for the most part? I mean, I'll take the 80k signup bonus and will keep it open this time just for the transfer, but i'm not sure I'll use it that much compared to the FU. Am I missing something?

yeah, I guess that was my question. The last time I had the CSR, I don't think the FU was a thing and if it was it was just the 1.5% on everything. Now they have improved it and added more benefits making it a better spending card overall than the CSP for the most part.

Unless something has changed you’ll still need a sapphire to transfer the points to or you get no value out of them.

What's the best bang for buck out there right now? Saw a 90k Delta offer for $250, but am not really sure if that's worth it. Should I get her a Sapphire? Something else? What's the hot goss?
