it's useful for banking ur's but since they cancelled the 5x for new users i'm not sure i can argue that people that don't already have one should waste a 5/25 slot on the new freedom. maybe for single churners, but married churners should be never be caught in a situ where they don't have a ur card for banking points.

can i balance transfer from the INK? the application says the account "may not be eligible"

my situation is that i have to throwdown a pretty big (for me) chunk for something that i will be reimbursed for in about 6 months from work, but i want to profit off it and i dont want to be out of pocket in the meantime

my scheme was to get the ink, throw this thing on it to meet the spend, and then transfer to a free/no interest card until i get reimbursed

is this impossible or stupid?

yeah, it's possible.

downsides - 1) you'll probably pay at least 2% on the balance transfer, so that sucks a pretty good chunk of the profit from those points, 2) you use two 5/24 slots, 3) if you don't have the money free to pay off the spend until you're reimbursed, are you likely to be approved for credit limits for that much money on two cards back to back?

are you sure you wouldn't be better off just getting a second bonus rather than the balance transfer card?

additional data:
1) barclaycard ring mc has 0 transfer fees and free promo apr
2) because of the cash economy, i cant sustain a 5/24 churn anyway, and i wont
3) i dont know! i didnt think they thought that much about it?

Hyatt types...

Using my two free nights in NYC Hyatt House Chelsea. Got a third night for free and I don't have any status with Hyatt.
I booked direct. Then extended a night after I arrived. Had to call Reservations for the extension. Desk couldn't do it.

I tried Andaz and Park. Booked this weekend. I was already locked into traveling this weekend for vacation. So no changing to find space elsewhere.

This House is decent. I'm on a corner room at 6th and W 28th. Empire State building out one window. South Manhattan from the other. Plus easy walk to Broadway.
