well except it was all in the past, so he only got paid when he was younger. now that he's old he can't do it anymore.

If you are going to start flying American anytime soon, I really recommend getting one of their Citi cards with the "Group 1" boarding benefit.

I haven't flown American in years and had no status.  They way that they board can really eff your chances of avoiding getting your carry-on checked, and as a result, it's a gang bang mad house when they call "group 2" for boarding.  Group 2 is chaos.  It's repulsive.

If you get the card, you get Group 1, which guarantees your carry on does NOT get checked....even on the piece of crap 2x2 Eagle jets.  There are always just a handful of Group 1, after the status group loads.

I applied for the card as soon as I stared flying American.  It took a few weeks for Group 1 to show up on my boarding passes, but works like a charm now.

Hit my 50k bonus for CSP.  Should I move on to the Reserve?

you will probably want it to move your points back from the reserve if you don't want to pay the annual fee in a year. if you're going to keep the reserve for multiple years then no.

I still have my freedom open.  Can I just move all the points to that one?

they're worth the most with the reserve, tiny bit less with the CSP (less flexible as you can only redeem for 1.25 cpm for direct bookings v. 1.5 cpm. in most instances transferring to a travel partner is the best value), and way less with the freedom.

alright.  so then plan of action:

1.  Open CSR.  2.  hit spending bonus. 3.  Transfer or use CSR UR points 4. Cancel CSR prior to paying second annual fee

why not just keep the csr, cancel the csp and pay the $55 delta in annual fees and keep racking up those 3x'ers?

isn't the CSR a $450 annual fee and the CSP $100?

if you use the annual travel credit you get back $300 of that. assuming that's where the math is coming from.

ya $450 annual fee - +300 annual travel credit + 2x UR vs 3x UR.  unless you don't eat out, the 2x vs 3x UR is worth the $55.

also, csr's annual fee is $95, not $100

make sure and book your $300 travel soon though b/c it needs to hit by your december statement, even if it is for SWA gift cards or whatever that you can use later for your travel if you don't have any planned soon.  the $300 credit is a calendar year annual credit and does include ubers and just about anything that could be construed as travel related

I always forget about the travel credit.  TY, PC and SD.

I'll see you all in this thread after I hit the CSR bonus to continue my exploration into the points universe.

the UR points universe is large and expansive.  i've been able to tally up 190K UR's in one year's time and have no intention of slowing down.

was calling to cancel my SW card because I never use the actual card and didn't feel like paying the $69 for it in November but they credited my statement for $70  :gocho:

I had the same thing happen with my AA card, they credited me $10 more than the annual fee.
