I stayed at the element in Omaha for like 5k Starwood. They have amazing value redemptions. Did a le Meriden in DC for like 7k. They also have actual nice hotels across the entire price spectrum. Alofts and elements are nice semi upscale hotels that are dirt cheap.

Right. Transfer all your CSP-earned UR points to a travel award partner account or better, to another UR-earning credit card UR account, before canceling a CSP.

I got a 50K mile offer for the regular American Airlines Citi card and grabbed it.  It was offered on American site when I was booking a flight.  Haven't seen that offer before or after anywhere.  Best I could find otherwise was 30K.  There is another card with a huge annual fee but eff that thing.

you can get 50k always pete but it's still good. I've gotten that card about 20 times between 100k and 50k. the 100k days are over though.

for those of you that haven't done this thread for long you used to be able to get the 100k and 75k cards about every 3 months for a couple years. I have gotten over a million miles from these citi AA cards. TONS of flyertalkers that started before me got lifetime exec platinum status with AA by doing this. When I got started those miles only qualified you for lifetime million mile status for about a year so I only got about 300k to lifetime exec plat status. those were the glory days.
