true churners, maybe.  but very few people that sign up for their offers actually are churners and those programs, in total, make them cash money son

I've got 4 in 24 months  ...about to go HAM on Chase one last time....what else after that?

I think chase had to either significantly devalue UR points or do the 5/24 thing (or something similar to it). I'm glad they did the 5/24.

my new cc strategy is to apply for everything (non-chase) and have mrs. dave do 5 chase cards every 24 months. the not having an additional user won't really effect us outside of the bonuses you get for having one. In doing the math lil sd has flown 6 times via comp pass on SW at conservatively $400 per RT so $2,400 over the last 18 months. have one more flight for free coming in december. that's pretty huge on top of the 100k SW miles we got from the two cards. she's going to do that again come december (SW will probably remove the ability to get the comp pass with bonus miles soon so hopefully they don't before then).

I need an interpretation on Delta Amex terms.  I have the gold card.  Received an offer to upgrade to platinum for 15k miles after 1k spend.  So I checked current offer for new platinum card is 60k plus 10k MQM after 2k spend, much better offer.  However bonus for new card is "not available to applicants who have or have had this product".  Does my gold card disqualify me for the bonus on a new platinum?

Also, what are the chances of this 5/24 rule blowing up in Chase's face? Like, do Citi and Amex become super popular amongst churners with some possible new products coming online to replace the void that Chase has left in the market? Does the effect on their market share ever get bad enough that they have to come crawling back to the churners to ask for forgiveness, in way of bomb-ass cc bonus offers? It's probably a fantasy, but it's what keeps me hopeful for my churning future. Right now it looks grim, and boring.

since AMEX did the once per lifetime bonus rule a couple of years ago they aren't big churners.    I have read rare instances of people getting them again after many years, but it's not per rule.

no, but make sure you're aware of the annual fee on the plat

The fee is only $100 more than I'm already paying on the gold, so annual companion certificate will cover that.

With the plat card you get a companion certificate each year good for a round trip economy ticket in the cont 48 states.  After a little research, seems to be a mixed bag as far as actually being able to redeem it for a worthwhile flight.

i made a reservation at a hyatt for 1 room, using points. i also booked an additional reservation at the same hyatt on the same night for 1 room, also using points (for some family members). is this going to be a problem when i go to check in? i mean i should be able to check into both rooms right?
