wut. when you say "back home" you mean KC? and no points involved? mistake fare?

Yeah in and out of mci. Flying to Toronto to Munich, then Madrid to London to Toronto then back to KC.

I don't really earn them wth stays, only occasional bonus earnings when it makes sense and I have capacity.    We just did 2 nights at the St. Regis SF on points, I'd have never spent $500/nt on them if I had to pay for it.

Yeah that's essentially what we did. Each got the card, spent 2k in Europe, each got a 70k bonus. Easy.
