alright so

my wife has had an AA card since June 2013.  she can cancel and immediately reapply and get the bonus again, right?

we have like 250k AA miles between the two of us but might as well have 300k :idk:

here in a few months it will have been two years since we did the hyatt cards so think we will do that again

we should probably both do a CSP as well, neither of us have had that...I'm also thinking of getting her a Marriott card at some point and then transferring her points to my account toward my lifetime status I'm trying to get with them.

deep thoughts with gfa

not the same card.  citi is 18 months from cancelation.  if she happens to have a diff. card than the one they currently offer, then she can.  it's all on the flyertalk thread.

don't turn your nose up at the gold.  you and your wife can get 25k each with that and it's hardly any spend.  doesn't alter your platinum clock.

Can you repost the info for that flyer talk thread and/or any other helpful info on wait times after cancellations to redo bonuses with various cards?

in general from my iirc computer:

chase: 2 years since you last got the bonus
citi: 18 months since you last had the card
amex: NEVER AGAIN! except business cards which iirc is every 2 years.
cap one/BoA/Barclays: as many times and as fast as you can until they tell you no. I think with cap one and barclays you have to have actually cancelled the previous card but they don't always enforce it. I think BoA will let you have multiples of the same card.

Got a call from my Canadian Friend who like Pete uses his points to fly a million kids all over the globe.

Behind Door #1 we have a targeted Amex Platinum offer. 100k MRs, $5000 spend, $450 fee with the same $200 (basically $400) airline credit. No other Amex cards.

Behind Door #2 we have the CSP. Things are getting dicey with Chase, but URs just dropped under 120k and your pal WMCF doesn't like to be that low. Also going to apply for both SW cards at the beginning of 2016.

Assuming both are not an option, which door should WonderMeal's Canadian Friend choose? And if you can't use it on tickets, how do most people spend that $200 airline credit, just bag fees?

well, the CSP isn't going away but your ability to get it may if you apply for a lot of cards. that 100k plat offer is pretty rare. bag fees, lounge access, economy+ seats, early boarding, front of the cow line on SW, drinks, etc.

You should copy this post to the first post in the thread with all the current best deals that you are putting there. Are you still doing that?

Just pulled the trigger on the Amex Platinum. I've been staring at it across the room for months, finally got the courage to ask her to dance. V. excited about it.

Besides the MRs and airline credit, are there any other stud benefits that come with a Platinum that I should know about? This is my first Amex.

Saw that.  I think Chase may not let me pick up another right now, not sure.    Below is the link.

It would be tough to do this AND try for a SWA companion pass, I think.

yeah, go for the SW Pete. this one isn't that great. The normal offer (not normal but available a lot) is the 50k which is really all you'd want to do for this one anyway. that much spend is a waste of time.

I listed them out earlier but:
lounge access (delta, Amex Centurion, priority pass)
SPG gold status
pretty great hotel booking benefits through their amex system

I have to use a free Hyatt night by December and don't have any scenarios currently with which to use it so I'm thinking of taking the train to Vancouver and staying there for a Saturday afternoon and Sunday day.

I also have 30K Frontier miles expiring in February.  I still have to get to Florida sometime for a class, but the late notice on when classes are vs. how early it seems to be necessary to do a Frontier miles ticket that far don't seem to work out.  So instead of doing the train to Vancouver in the next 2 months, thinking of Frontier'n to Vegas or San Diego or somewhere warm and having dinner and posting in the "post here when you're at a bar alone" thread and staying at a well-situated Hyatt and flying back in the morning.  I could do the Vancouver train run the following year when it's warmer and I have another Hyatt night to blow.  Could even transfer URs to Amtrak to make that free even though the train tickets might as well be free as is.  Recommendations?

I don't know what this means but it reminded me of Jake and then made me think of Griff and how he's in San Diego so I should probably go there.  Does Hyatt have hostels?

Are train tickets cheap? I seem to remember looking up a trip a while back and it was more expensive than flying.

Trim, absolutely the Vegas for dinner thing. I'm doing a 36 hours in Chicago park Hyatt/avios weekend of sexy romance nsfw wife kat kid in November.
