no. ~2 years but there are 4 different SW cards and you can get all 4 of them. also don't apply for one today because the 50k bonus is no longer open. they'll bring it back later this year though if they do what they've done in the past.

Each get an AA 50k card. 50k is biz class from Rome back to the states and you can fly star alliance there. Hyatt is your best bet for hotels. Each get the Hyatt right before you are ready to book for 4 free nights and then use UR for the remaining Hyatt nights or a hilton card for a couple free weekend nights. You are mostly there.

Called and canceled my first card today (Chase Ink Bold). Was sad to see ol' Blue go--you'll never forget your first love, I guess.

...but then I got home and saw two new Chase Freedoms (20k points each for me and Mrs. WonderMeal), the Lufty 50k card, and a United offer for 50k miles + 5000 for adding an authorized user. Just a great day to check the mail.

Should I apply for that United card (which I think I can combine with Lufty)? Is 50k+5000 a good deal, or does that come up a lot?

50&5 is a good deal.  you could try to hold out for 60, but you may never get it.

You can't combine the lufthansa and united miles but can use them to fly on either airline (or other star alliance carriers). 50+5 is the best United offer that normally comes around.

It's pretty good. It's a cash equivalent point so it's exactly as good as the redemption level. You don't have the opportunity to get a huge redemption but it takes the work out of it. Lower than UR imo but ok given the sign up.
