are you aware that lufthansa has their own card? unless you like flying in the back of the bus you may want to go that route. you can't really find 1st award space on lufty unless you are using their miles or are ok waiting for the week before the flight to book it.

See here's the thing, Luftansa's spend is $5k for the same amount of miles, and I already have like 70k Chase UR miles (which I can use on United, right?). Thoughts?

Since you already have the UR points I think it makes most sense to consolidate the miles on United. Have you been accumulating United miles on your Lufty flights?

That said, why not do both cards?

Yes accumulating United miles, and expect that to continue over the next year leading up to this fun trip.

We could do both. It's time for my wife to start getting hers. How should I prioritize though? Neither of us have done the Chase Ink Bold though and was thinking of that one next.
