You will have to get a Chase Sapphire Preferred credit card (the best credit card out there in my opinion and what I use for most of my spending) and spend $3k on the card in the first 3 months. When you do this you will get 40k Ultimate Reward points which you can transfer to SW, Hyatt, Marriott, United, and other programs at a 1:1 ratio. So you would have 43k SW miles available after you spend $3k on the card. You can get an additional 5k points if you add an "authorized user" of the card (mrs. wacky?) and they make one purchase with the card. you can then take it away from her and trash it or whatever.
