People that become blind see images in dreams. Born blind people do not.
Sometimes I think of the Book of Job and how God likes to really eff with people.

When you get shot for the first time, your body doesn't recognize that particular pain and will go into shock, effectively making it almost painless.

FALSE

If you died in your house, a pet cat would eat your dead body, starting with your soft eyeballs, for sustenance, a dog would stay by your corpse until it also died. (i'm pretty sure that's completely horseshit, but it worked when a "Let's get a cat instead of a dog" discussion came up the last time)

You lose 80% of your body heat from your head, so it's very important to wear a hat when it's cold.

Derivative: The "80%" theory was flawed because it was based on a military study in the Arctic and the participants wore parkas but not hats*

*heard it but may not be true

I have heard that the 80% rule is flawed because it was based off of infants, who's heads are larger in proportion to their body at that age than they are as an adult.

That makes sense, kind of.  Losing 80% of my heat from my head as a grown-up makes no sense.

You drive and park on both, dumbass.

Also, parkways usually have landscaped medians or lead to parks or something park related.

Pouring vinegar on mosquito bites takes the itch away.

Popping an asprin/motrin/ibuprofin prior to passing out drunk will keep the hangover away.

Putting human hair in your garden keeps the deer away.

Putting human hair in your garden keeps the deer away.  This one is true for the most part deer do get used to it after a while.

If you don't "use it" you will in fact "lose it".
