KSU's staff was scouting Carrington and his teammate on the LI Lightning, Adonis Delarosa (6'10" 260) during the July live period. Delarosa isn't currently ranked by any of the major scouting services yet and I'm not certain how great KSU's interest is in him at this time, but it sounds like he could develop into a big-time prospect, if not already there.

"Adonis is playing real good," his AAU coach Chris Williams said. "He's showing that he's the best center in New York City and one of the top centers in the country."

Rosa had coaches from Kansas State, Michigan State and Tennessee watching him during his past game at the Nike Invitational according to Williams."

Kansas State offers Dwayne MorganTweet The Kansas State Wildcats have offered 2014 five-star small forward recruit Dwayne Morgan, who is clearly the best recruit in the state of Maryland. He is also arguably one of the top five recruits in the region and easily a top 30 recruit in the nation.

Dwayne Morgan has also received offers from Georgetown, Missouri, UNLV, Seton Hall, Florida, LSU, Miami, N.C. State, USF, and San Diego State in his recruitment. UNC, Duke, Clemson, Florida State, Texas, Maryland, and Ohio State have also shown interest.

The 6’7?, 180 pound Baltimore SF is easily one of the best ten players at his position in the 2014 class, and the St. Frances standout is one of the most highly sought after recruits in the 2014 class. Many coaches and scouts eye his games with Bmore’s Finest, and he certainly is Baltimore’s finest recruit; it only takes a glance at his AAU games and camps around the country to see why.

An excellent scorer, Dwayne Morgan possess a quality game with a consistent jumper. He has terrific length, and his overall talent is off the charts. Many coaches love him for his upside, and Morgan is also plenty good now. Although he does need to get stronger, Morgan is a better rebounder than some people give him credit for and is versatile enough to play both forward positions.

The five-star small forward has athleticism, intelligence, and he is also a good shot-blocker. Dwayne Morgan has a great mid-range game that is the most appealing thing about his offensive game, and he also has a high motor and finishes at an above-average rate around the rim. One of the best prospects to come out of Maryland recently, Morgan is definitely a five-star recruit, and Maryland is hoping to land the top in-state catch and Southern Jam Fest standout.

Morgan playing in kind of a big deal tonight:

"To name a few the Under Armour NBA team will have to contain Kim English (Detroit Pistonsrookie), Will Barton (Trailblazers rookie), Josh Selby (Grizzlies), Demarcus Cousins (Kings), Aquille Carr (Patterson High School), Dwayne Morgan (St. Frances). On the flip side, Bmore's Finest will have their hands full checking Derrick Williams (T-Wolves), Kemba Walker (Bobcats), Greivis Vasquez (Hornets), and Deandre Jordan (Clippers)"

http://courtcred.com/content/entry/under_armour_nba_vs_bmores_finest/

Morgan's recruitment has intensified since the article pasted below was written(see sd's post above) but it sorta gives some good background info on him(he's also transferred to St. Frances HS, still in Baltimore).

It's been reported by a variety of sources that consensus 4* wing Trevon Blueitt would be visiting KSU this month. He just visited Illinois last weekend, hopefully his trip to KSU is next on his list.

That would be pretty cool if things worked out like that but I haven't seen any references to Blueitt visiting at that time, just as in the link above, every time I've seen BLueitt talk about visiting KSU, he's always said August but a specific date has not been given.

You probably already knew this but since Blueitt is just a JR, he can't take official visits until Jan 1, 2013.

Foster and Carroll will presumably be on officials the weekend of 9/8.

Naw man, that's all new, quality scoop.

I believe all those dudes run AAU on the MA based Expressions. Really like what I've read about Terrell - bullish, prolific scoring 2 guard with sweet stroke from distance.

Holy crap, this staff is slinging around some offers. Really hope it works.   :ksu:

I get a lot of hook ups/free stuff, cause I'm super nice to people, and stirke up conversations with random people. I guess the moral of that story is, I hope this is what recruits think when they speak to oscar. The kill'em with kindness routine, just. might. work.

Did all the PNR programs abandon the name after the Pump brothers troubles?

As far as I know, the KC based version was the only program to change their name. They still have teams based in MN, UT, and LAC(the original, known as "Double Pump Elite"). The main reason for this change was the program's change in sponsors from Adidas to Under Armor. I really don't know if that was that program's attempt to distance themselves from the Pumps(flagbearers for Adidas), or just an attempt to jump on the forefront of the UA bandwagon, if you can call it that right now.

Same organizers, same coaches, so I'm not expecting much of a change but I guess we'll see.

FWIW, right after Weber was hired this past spring, KSU briefly showed some interest in a Run GMC product Class of '13 Tory Miller(6'9" PF from Lee's Summit, now going to prep school in NH). In 1 of his updates from then, Miller said he thought KSU was really close to offering(which may not be a huge statement with this staff, ha!) but we've really fallen off the radar with him since then. It sounds like Minnesota, Nebraska, Creighton, TCU, and Colorado St are still on him strong with interest from Vandy and Missouri. He's planning to visit Minnesota in September. Couldn't really say why we stopped recruiting him, wouldn't call him an elite prospect, but solid. I guess we'll see how the whole AAU relations shakes out from here.

From ISU recruit lists, Custer visited up there this past weekend. That's his 2nd unofficial to Iowa St. within the past several months.

What's the difference between an official and un-official visit?  Who pays?

Official visits --> the school the prospect is visiting pays for the whole thing. Each prospect is granted the opportunity to take up to 5 official visits to different schools before making a final decision. In the past, prospects were only to begin taking these visits during the fall of his SR year. Starting Jan 1, 2013, prospects can start taking visits in during their JR years. Note: this is for basketball recruiting, I'm not certain off the top of my head how the rule change effects football recruiting.

Unofficial visits --> the prospect's(family) and or/his "handlers" pay for it. A lot of gray area as to what defines a "handler", this is an area the NCAA has been looking at regulating more strictly. A prospect can take as many unofficial visits to whatever schools he chooses as along as they don't occur during any of the NCAA's "no contact" periods.
