Shane is a secondary player.  If you want Shane to do this yr what he did last yr, we need the Dec point guard to be a stud immediately.

Yikes, the point was shane and gip and to an extent nino are good players.  oscar needs to find a way to let shane flourish in his system but more than likely will do him like JO last year.

I think the LBSU game was a step forward.

I will continue to contend that a key for this team until Thomas is healthy (and probably after Thomas is healthy) is 15-20 effective minutes from Nigel Johnson at PG. It would be nice if he'd hit a shot, but his assist rate per 100 is pretty solid so far. But him doing that helps Will and Shane be better IMHO.

I will continue to contend that a key for this team until Thomas is healthy (and probably after Thomas is healthy) is 15-20 effective minutes from Nigel Johnson at PG. It would be nice if he'd hit a shot, but his assist rate per 100 is pretty solid so far. But him doing that helps Will and Shane be better IMHO.

he's got a good handle and good quickness.  if he isn't asked to score, he won't have any problem bringing the ball up the court and then moving it.

nice reactions on defense, too.  just so small (and apparently no j).

Yeah, listed at 6-1, but he's obviously not. His shot doesn't look terrible, I'll give him the early season FR excuse for a few games and he clearly doesn't lack the confidence to shoot it. I think with his quickness he can manage some minutes in Big 12 games.

Nigel has really good length so his height isn't a problem. Nigel was a chucker chucker in high school, he can shoot I think his miss the rhythm of shooting all the time. He will makes shoots eventually.

After he missed a few 3's against LBS, Chet pulled him over during a free throw and told him we don't need him to score.

And the residual effects of throwing away at least one scholarship per class because of recruiting failure is going to catch up.

Are you complaining about Frank, or oscar, or both?  I agree.

All the good players at this point have transferred (if they had options) or have graduated.

Are you complaining about Frank, oscar, graduation rules, or all of the above?  oscar lost Angel.  Frank lost Wally Judge and Nick Russell.  All three of those guys would be nice to have on this team, certainly.  The only other former KSU players I can think of with eligibility are Adrian Diaz and Orris and I'm not sure either of those guys fall under the category of "good players."  (Jeremy Jones went to South Alabama and sat out a year but has now disappeared, and I guess James Watson's heart condition ended his playing days?  Anyway, again, probably neither was the missing link for this year's team.)

It would be nice to have McGruder another year.

Judge was in McGruder's class. So, he would be gone.

Yep, Judge and Nick Russell would both be done if they hadn't sat out a transfer year.  But as it stands, they're both still playing...

Asprilla only had one year left to play after KSU, and he played it at Canisus last year -- Freddy is now ballin' in the Colombia pro league.  Fred Brown launched his last collegiate 3-pointer for ULM as a senior in 2012.

It's really going to suck when Hurt leaves after one year, and oscar fails to replace him with a quality big. The excuse will sound a lot like when Angel left, "It was just so late in the process, we had no idea he was thinking about the draft, it really put us behind the 8-ball."

Guys, I hear what you are saying about Hurt, but would rather that than oscar delay the kid's dreams like bill and delay/stunt his growth.  I would rather be known as a school that helps fulfill these kids' dreams rather than one that hurts draft prospects for selfish reasons.  I mean, lets vault that kid as high as possible and then market how we did that.

I missed this in the KC Star last week about Marvin Clark:

Watching Thursday’s game had to be an interesting experience for Marvin Clark, a 6-foot-7 forward from Bel Aire who plays for Sunrise Christian Academy and the MoKan Elite AAU program.

He watched the action from behind K-State’s bench and was technically on an unofficial visit to the school, but he is also considering Mississippi.

Before the game, Clark said he will visit Ole Miss in late December and then make a decision between the Wildcats and Rebels. He also said Thursday’s game would have minimal impact on his commitment. He took an official visit to K-State before the season. He is considered a three-star recruit by Rivals.

Auburn has offered Willie Atwood (6-8/F/2014) of Connors State. Kansas State and SMU have also shown interest recently.
