No, you were right. I know a lot here feel differently, but I welcome a competitive squad in Lawrence, and not one the bows out of the tournament to a team from a 1-dance non-BCS conference. A stronger hawker team will make us stronger.
Unfortunately, I saw a lot of holes. Not very deep in the front court and pretty short. Sure the mcmorons are 6 8, but their lack of length hurts them. Robinson is 6 7, and Withy is forgettable.
Well, maybe Shelby is superman.

They also have some very "heady" guards who don't turn the ball over (fyi "heady" is code for white) and play within the system, real great distributors.  Those guys looked solid against genuine mid tier BCS competition.  Should set up some epic games against NU and ISU come conference play.  Hopefully this James Shelby guy can add a dynamic to the back court allowing them to compete for 5th....maybe even 4th in the conference.

he's about 2 inches shorter than howard with a similar frame and perhaps longer arms but he's a much better shooter from the outside at this point.  He's probably a little more muscular than Howard was at the same age but they are pretty similar looking physically.
