Hudler is a complete moron
Quote from: Cire on July 09, 2013, 03:23:21 PMryan knows it's coming lol, must have said the same thing on break or something.LOL, the super quick "No." from RL is classic.Hudler is a complete moron, but all he was trying to say was, "Imagine how popular Salvy would be if he played in a big market,"...which is a very true point, he just made the point in the worst way possible.Oh, and since we've digressed to posting 'optimal lineups' I'd go withGordon - LJohnny G - RButler - RHosmer - LPerez - RMoose - LCain - RLough -LEscobar - RI personally don't put a lot of stock into the LRLRLR batting order, but I know Ned does, so I think this is a lineup that he could settle into eventually assuming Escobar stays <.250/.300

And LRL is great in theory but it's a luxury few teams have.

And LRL is great in theory but it's a luxury few teams have.LRLRLR is completely secondary in building a succesful lineup...Ned's problem is it seems to be his first priority. And on good teams, everybody does have a single role offensively...get on base as often as possible, regardless of spot in the order. THAT needs to be KC's philosophy...players do not change their approach whether they are hitting in the 1 or 6 spot in the order, and to perpetuate that myth is asinine
Quote from: Jackstack99EMAW on July 09, 2013, 01:07:32 AMAlso, Escobar cannot be in the two hole any longer. Order should either be Dyson Gordo Butler Hos Salvy or Gordo Butler Hos/Salvy(Either one, interchangeable.Yost has a hard-on for esky in the 2 hole for some reason. When they moved him down where he needed to be for awhile it worked well but now he's back. And in no way should dyson be the regular lead off man. He's no better at the top of the order than esky. If moose continues hitting decent the top 5 in the order should be Gordon, Butler, Hoz, Moose, and Salvy in any order.

You really think the stud power hitters in the game are more concerned with getting on base or driving in runs? The batting order matters because certain people have skillsets that lend them to a spot in the order. I mean, I guess it's everybody's goal to simply hit the ball and get on base but this ain't little league so dudes do have different roles.

I don't really see how putting Butler at 2 is so crazy, he's not fast, but he gets on base a lot, which Esky doesn't do, and Hos should be in the 3 or 4 to have runners on and drive them in. Billy could be at 3 or 4 too but 2 hole needs to change.

I think he should get a shot.
