Just bad little tics that these guys get into and constantly revert back to. Not staying back on the ball is a big one that his led to popups and a lack of power.  Plate discipline should have been stressed in the minors, and stressed ad nauseam in the majors.

yost appears to suck, but most of the blame needs to be on the players. a lot of them were highly valued prospects, they're in the majors, they shouldn't have to be "coached up" to not be terrible. and right now they are terrible.

Its not a coaching up situation, Yost is fine in that role. They need an actual MLB manager to demand more from them, get them out of there comfort zones a bit. At this point, a coaching change can't really hurt and could honestly help a bet.

Agreed. My favorite manager of all time is Tony LaRussa, who started as a MLB player with the KC A's and speaks fondly of KC. He's won everywhere he's been. Unfortunately, I am confident the Royals could not coax him out of retirement.

Hopefully not luked, but doesn't this put the Ned issue into perfect perspective?

Dude, mix in a period or something here and there. And not staying back on a ball is something even seasoned veterans do.

I'm still glad the Royals fired Seitzer. Let's not act like the hitters were just awesome before he got canned. They just need to fire the new guy and then go hire a hitting coach who's actually good.

Folks, it's May 23rd, and the Kansas City Royals have the 9th best record in the AL and are only 3.5 games back in the Wild Card race.

The way things are going, the royals will be 11 games back in the wild card race in about 2 weeks.

9th best out of what 15? thats not that great at all, and we just lost a series to the worst team in baseball.

End the "Sucked since '85" talking point please. Its sucked since '95 really.

The '89 team was better than the '85 team, just were in a division with Oakland. '94 team probably would've made the playoffs except the strike.

The strike is just what happens when a bunch of greedy players and their greed for money ruin great sports like baseball so teams like the Royals just have to suck for eternity instead of making the playoffs so those greedy players can all go be Yankees and drive yachts.

Fair enough, but 27 years without a playoff appearance is still 27 years. Its an amazing run of pathetic baseball.

A large number of those years were before the wild card era, when it was possible for the 2nd best team in baseball to not even make the playoffs, but yeah, it's still a long run.

Have you seen that stat that since the Royals last were in the postseason every franchise in the MLB, NFL, NHL, and NBA have been in their respective playoffs?

Yeah. 27 years is a long time. Making the playoffs in baseball used to be incredibly difficult, though. I really think the Royals will get there at some point over the next 10 years.

I get like, real angry watching the royals right now.  We have no power, which leads to a lot of singles followed by a million runners left on base and inning ending double plays.   :bang: :bang: :bang:

top prospects don't turn into top players often enough to make up for the fact that we don't have enough money to grab top free agent talent consistently.

if that makes sense.
