The Royals HR record is 36... several people have hit 36 before the all-star break. Its a cultural thing here in KC. We have a hitting coach who was a Royal and so he doesn't focus on hitting bombs because thats how its always been

no we don't.

also, with our fences in KC we're never going to have a bunch of 30+ guys.  But our doubles numbers need to be really good, we need to be fantastic on the bases, and can't run into outs.

heard mouspopups on the radio this morning and stole it.

Alright guys, quick turnaround first pitch in 50 minutes. Would hang a banner so hard if we could pick off a win today.

I'd rather have Country Breakfast hit 45+ doubles than swing for the fences every time. But I wouldn't mind a 25 hr/ 45 dbl season.

i wish we had guys that would consistently hit home runs without having to purposely "swing for the fences."

We need to find a way to get Hosmer and Butler in the lineup together for these archaic NL games.

I'm watching the game on gamecast. Did Frenchy just gun somebody down at the plate after a double?

Its a loser mentality to say we'll never have a bunch of 30+ HR guys. 81 games are on the road. Are you really believing that our lack of homeruns as an organization is due to the park?

Which lineup that we've had recently would've produced multi 30 HR seasons if our home games were in Texas or Dever?

I think the mentality in building those teams is that since Kaufman has deep fences and we play 81 games per year in that park, we aren't going to focus on power hitters. It's not what I would do, but it kind of makes sense for a defeatist organization like the Royals.

Would've been nice to get 2, but that's a great split against the Braves.

Fences are just too far away you guys. Probably should just try to win most games 1 to zip.
